Warlock Den Convention in game?

I didn't see a thread similar to this when I searched, and I figured it would be dated if I had.

Would it be fun, a good/bad idea, incredibly fabulous? to have an in-game Warlock Den meeting? Does this go on and I just don't know about it? I suppose if people wanted to there could be permanent guilds (1 horde, 1 alliance) set up; warlock only, of course. We could make it a weekend convention, pick a server using whatever criteria and create alts on it, and plan it out months in advance. Get some pvp contests going if people liked. Hold it at that rogue place up in the mountains in hillsbrad that I can't remember right now. No one is usually ever there. There many many possibilities and details, just throwing the idea out to see if there's interest.

Well, this is a tricky one, as everyone would be creating level 1 toons for this unless they already would be on the realm. Plus we'd be spending time getting those toons leveled to a set amount so we could reach the Manor. And once the event started... what exactly would we do? Talk same as we do on the boards? Duel? I suppose it could be interesting if we planned things out just right.

Incidentally, the only contact I've had from the Den in game to date was just last week when Voln contacted me and added me as a friend.

It's an interesting idea, but as Pernicious mentioned, it's got some kinks to work out. If we picked a realm where there were already a few members on both sides (ally / horde), we could all get summoned there.

The bigger question would be: what do we do once we're there?

We could do an undead Halloween event - level 1 race to IF or something - bet we could even get some WoWInsider coverage. Sort of stealing the idea from the Night of the Living Dead invasion mentioned here some time ago.

I'd be willing to get <The Warlock's Den> started on a server if the interest is there.

Yeah, interesting. I know Akasha's expressed a few times now about not wanting anything in game to reference the website as to avoid any issues if things go badly, that is no officially sponsored Warlock Den guilds or what not. But at the same time, it's good publicity and promotes the den.

Even if we didn't run around with <The Warlock's Den> under our name tags, I'm sure the event would be fun and if we got whispers from people that really were interested, we could use word of mouth to promote the den as we always do.

Ah, did not know that. In that case I have a few micro-guilds that are just me and my wife for bankspace.

Indeed, events planning is not my forte, but I'm sure there are many creative folks at the den, that could come up with ideas.

As it was said, what can we do in-game that we can't do via forums? Or, what might be more fun in-game? Anything that involves synchronous contact comes to mind: parades, revolutions, homecoming dances?
