how has your guild set up your ranks ?
I am curious to know how your guild has set up its rank structure. I feel is an important thing to make people feel they are being recognized for their work and contributions to the guild.
What we have done Recruit - All new members come in this rank Alt - All characters < 70 are stuck here Member - All members who have stuck around for a while and have ran stuff with the guild Veteran - I often place peole who have made major contributions to the guild in terms of leading raids, instances.. Class leader - recognized heads of their classes. Officer - People who hlelp manage the guild Guildmaster - Head of the guild I was thinking about refining this structure a bit and wanted to hear how some other guild layed it out. |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
My guild has the following setup:
Commandant - Guild Leader Major General - Second in Command(Essentially Co Leader) Captain - Third in Command(Currently only one of these though in the future there will be more, these I assume will be raid leaders besides C & MG - such as Second Kara Team. Lieutenant -- Those that have had major contributions to the guild. They have access to the entire vault. They have the power to boot/invite new member. Instance Leaders, etc. Staff Seargent -- All Guild Vault Tabs. Invites - Can boot upon approval. Treasurer -- Member in charge of keeping the GV cleaned up, and in charge of doling out items that need to be moved out of GV. No other authority. Corporal -- Most GV Tabs, can invite upon approval, usually for those that have been around awhile but don't want more reponsibility, or can't be on as much. This is a rank designed for those that are in a position to move up but don't neccesarily have to try to move up. Private -- A couple GV Tabs - Mostly people who are somewhat new but have shown that they are trustworthy and interested in the guild. Initiate -- NOOBS. |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
We ran with:
GM Raid Leader Class Leader Veteran Raider Trial Alt/Raider's pvp partiners :P I liked that setup because I basically setup my raids using seniority as the first criteria so I could pretty much start at the top and work down the list for the makeups I needed. |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
my guild goes like this:
ancient: GM elder: people who have been in the guild for a while and have made severe contributions, as well as can be trustworthy and respectable. Also participates in guild events such as raids and parties regularly (currently this is me and 9 others). centurion: people who make significant contributions and are trustworthy, or we just find them to be really cool people. also have been on the guild for a bit. guardian: the average member who can be trusted and participates moderetly, but not enough of a contribution to make centurion. aka: alts whelp: people that have just joined the guild (2 week period to turn to guardian if we find you trustworthy) or have done something bad enough to be demoted this far, but not enough to the lower level. probation: you've done something really bad (like taking stuff from guild bank when you shouldn't or disobeying guild rules after several warnings... or you're REALLY annoying everyone). You don't even have access to guild chat on this one. Usually we'll either kick you out after this one (serious cases), or soon put you back to guardian/whelp after a while. as far as bank rights go, it goes from GM with complete access, to elders with near complete access (can withdraw from all tabs, but only so much per day), then a tab is subtracted from each level after that and you can take less from each, all the way down to whelp/aka where you can only view the bank. I don't know if probation can even view the bank. P.S: By the way, my guild is Relic on the server Ravencrest (relic-ravencrest.us) |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
My guild has the following ranks which are guild name appropriate:
![]() Bartender - Leadership (We have a council of officers rather than a GM) Wino - Founding memebers, mainly officers who have stepped down Total Lush - Raiders Wanna Bee? - People who want to attain Lush status (my rank heh) Sober Cab - Friends and Family Seeing Double - Alts New recruits usually end up in Sober Cab or Wanna Bee? depending on how and why they joined. We also have a rank for people who have been misbehaving but it isn't really forum appropriate ![]() The guild that Roma and I kind of started with some Den members had it's ranks based on minions - Doomguard, Imp etc. I thought it was a clever idea. Sadly it has kind of faded away with my pally still sitting as GM, not going to disband it. |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
My guild is set up much like all the others mentioned in regard to ranks. No real differences in our rank names.
What is different in my guild is the lowest rank of Inactive. All invited members start here but are immediately promoted to Initiate. When they have not logged in their toon for one month, I demote them to Inactive. After a very generous 4 months of inactivity, they are /gkick'ed. I suppose I could track just by the last logged in date but I find it helpful to know who is our "really" casual player that only logs in monthly or so. |

Re: how has your guild set up your ranks ?
Well, being in a guild named X Rated, our GM got a little creative:
Stripper: This is the lowest part of the chain of the command. Your just trying to enter the business. This is a probationary rank of 2 weeks. It's more important during this time to learn as much about the guild and what is required of you than to offer your opinions of what you think should happen. After two weeks, you could be promoted or removed or kept on probation for another 2 weeks. Fluffer: Your a full time guildy at this point. We like what comes out of your mouth or more importantly what we put in. (J/K). Usually a fluffer gets another promotion after marginally good attendance and repeated success in raid instance. Softcore: This rank is given to members that are casual sometimes they raid and sometimes they do not. We apprecaite when they can raid and they appreciate the fact that sometimes they can't raid because a Hardcore member is on. X Rated will always do it's best to get everyone that they can into raids but there are no guarantees. Hardcore: Yeah this is the down and dirty part of the business. You have done just about all there is I have asked and you keep coming back for more muahahaha. But more importantly you raid all the time and this is a direct reflection on your service to the guild. Pornstars: These guildies are legends in the business they done it so much they are now teaching everyone else the tricks of the trade. In a NUTshell, these are raid leaders. They are responsible for getting a raid together, directing the raid, and managing the loot. Raid leaders can remove anyone from there raid for whatever reasons. Furthermore they can remove anyone fluffer or below from the guild. Respect these guildies they handle your loot and sometimes your meal ticket. Directors: Lights. Camera, Action. This is the leadership of the guild. They make all decisions of the guild by majority commitee vote. They can remove anyone Softcore or below and can remove a Hardcore member by a majority decision vote. Co-Producer: This the second in command most of the time I don't see half of the sick sick $&*# he sees which is a good thing I like sleeping at night. All decisions which cannot be resolved by directors will then be handled by him. When the producer is away or on vacation or any other absences, he is Producer's voice of reason. Producer: Top of the sex industry here or your fun loving GM. Last edited by Vmaster; August 15, 2008 at 02:16 PM. Reason: I had originally cut and pasted this and I saw the S-word so i "bleeped" it out. |
