Do you want to be in a guild that raids once a week? (Turalyon, Alliance)

Less Than Three on Turalyon is looking for more people to continue running 10-mans. Currently, we have 10 regulars that raid on Sunday nights (10:30 EST, but it isn't set in stone). I would describe us as casual raiders with busy lives, but who still like to raid (and like to do it without wiping repeatedly of course). We've cleared The Siege in Ulduar and have downed Kologarn.

What we're looking for:
People that like one-night-a-week. Any class is welcome to get in touch with one of us to talk about recruitment (even if you're not quite at 80 yet). Since our mage retired and we don't have an endgame raiding level warrior, those classes are especially encouraged to check us out. People with raiding experience or desire to learn and figure things out (I joined with a mostly Kara-based background, but I've learned a lot since).

As for what we offer....
I can tell you about my personal experience. The guild is made up of mostly former hardcore raiders (from pre-BC days). I joined back in January, when a friend of mind saw an ad on Elitist Jerks about some experienced raiders looking for a one-time-a-week group. We had quit WoW for a year after frustrating experiences with badly organized Kara and leveling guilds. We wanted a casual and informal guild environment (no soap operas too), but tempered with people that have experience/knowledge/ability and desire to figure things out. We quickly found out how hard it was to find any one of those qualities and that it might be impossible to find all of them in a guild.

We had never seen anything beyond ZA, Gruul's, and Kara, but we replied to the ad anyway. We've now been raiding with Less Than Three for several months now, and we definitely don't regret the transfer. The guild has everything I was looking for. As I said, there are no guild soap operas (many of us are even friends in real life). People aren't greedy about loot. We tend to talk things over informally so that everyone can get some nice upgrades. Mostly, we just trust each other to make good decisions.

The atmosphere is rarely serious, but it is very competent. I would say that everyone in the guild knows their classes very well (in theory and execution) and most know at least a few others well too. I almost never have to soulshatter, and our healers know the subtleties of the fights and how to work with each tanking class/spec. Oh yeah, DPS is good too. So far, whenever we've decided to down certain bosses on a particular night, those bosses have gone down. The only exceptions have been when we've had to PUG to replace people that can't raid on occasion.

This is where new members would be valuable. Classes, new jobs, trips to Africa, and other real life things came up for about four of us at once around the time Ulduar opened. I was out for a few weeks because of graduation and a new job, but I should be back more or less regularly next Sunday. I think we've done two fully in-guild Ulduar runs, and we'd like to do more. I have no doubts about the people in the guild socially or as raiders, but I do doubt our numbers. We just need more to keep the in-guild runs going regularly. I'll be honest and say that we're fairly selective. It's not hard to fill the ranks of a guild that's already raiding, but everybody knows that good people and players are hard to find. We're not willing to add people just to fill up our roster. If you're not an *sshole, have a decent head on your shoulders, and want to raid with other people like that, that's a pretty good start (it's where I started).

Get in touch with us on our website at Less Than Three of Turalyon (make an account and post on the forums) or talk to one of us in-game on Turalyon (/who less than three) if you're interested or just have questions. I'll try to keep monitoring this thread in case people prefer it, but sometimes work keeps me away from this site for days at a time.
