Re: Warlock Tanks Patchwerk (not with pet

It was fun to watch, but not really anything I would ever want to do. Locks aren't tanks after all. I'm sure he had a ton of stamina gems and what not. As was said its not what we as a class excel at.

I worry that people that see stuff like this will expect locks to be able to do this. Just like with Sarth and VW. Its not something most locks can do because we don't spend gold on regemming, glyphing and speccing. I actually was asked if I my vw could tank sarth! I just hope this doesn't catch on.

..oh and thats a big repair bill.. yuck...

Re: Warlock Tanks Patchwerk (not with pet

I thought it to be a fake at first, but I've tried it myself. Heroics are very doable and SOOOO MUCH FUN! It's really exciting! I spent about 1500 gold to get gear and gems up to 30k hp unbuffed. I don't regret it. Eyeserith, you are a genius and I love you. I've been waiting for a new chance to try tanking ever since I first tanked Leotheras. But this... this is something completely different... These encounters aren't even made for Warlock tanks. I even had a group with a 1200 spellpower healing shaman and we cleared Gundrak heroic like it was nothing... Really, Warlocks, if you feel like you're bored with your class try doing what Eyeserith does for a living!

(On a side note, with the new Soul Link glyph and Molten Skin talent we're getting it should be even better!)

Edit: I feel silly, I only just noticed it was Eyeserith actually posting this (curse my short attention span!). YOU ARE AWESOME!

As a fellow gnome, I'd like to know what you did, gear, spec. We can see the armoury but will you confirm this? I'm at a loose end and may end up showing off in 3.1...

I'm guessing deep demo, searing pain spam, soul link, either improved sp or meta for a panic button, enough pvp gear to be uncrittable and loads of stam... but is that all? (and voidwalker out so you have more melee mitigation, with master demonologist, all health and stam talents and anything else that works here)

Molten skin and glyph of soul link make this easier in 3.1 as you'll have 6% damage going up in smoke and 5% more to the pet.

Re: Warlock Tanks Patchwerk (not with pet

Bah! you found me in tank spec/gear :( was trying to hide how we did it till we could try more.

Judging from how this went we warlocks could tank most of naxx and we (Celestia) will be tanking Patch 25man as soon as we get a 3rd gnome lock geared:P

Edit: I just read the rest of the posts and it was Celestia :P Not me or Mackin (the other lock tank) they helped us gear and stuck with us in the first attempts at heroics.

Re: Warlock Tanks Patchwerk (not with pet

I've been working out a build to tank heroics like this and working on the gear, and rotation. anyone have any idea on how high your resist needs to be to be uncritable. and the rotation for mobs to pull aggro. Also any ideas for the gear, as of right now i have about 12 pieces for tanking but always looking to upgrade lol
