Re: Aldor vs Scryer
I was leaning towards Aldor at first for the Auchenai staff and the Anchorite's Robe. Then I looked up other drops in BC and I think an equivalent staff & robe might be easy enough to get. Not sure if the other robes have the sockets though.
Scryer has a nice Seer's Signet at Exalted. Doesn't look like any nicer rings have dropped in BC yet. But I'm not sure I'll ever get to Exalted. I'm still undecided. I'd like to hear other's opinions too. |

Re: Aldor vs Scryer
The main city in the Outlands (Shattrath City) is neutral, but houses two conflicting factions. Players must choose a faction to affiliate with and gain access to banking facilities, etc. Once you become friends with one group - you will be an enemy of the other. These two groups are the Aldor and the Scryers.
According to the WowWiki, the Aldor are an ancient order of Draenei priests and the Scryers are a group of Blood Elves who broke away from Prince Kael’thas. Both groups now compete to win favor with the Naaru who control Shattrath City. It might seem obvious that the Aldor are Alliance-oriented and the Scryers are Horde. One of the beauties of this system is that players can opt to “cross party lines” and make friends with the opposing group. One of the main benefits of choosing a faction is to gain access to new recipes and gear. For the professions that make armor, the Scryers’ recipes allow you to make gear with arcane resist. The recipes from the Aldor will allow you to craft fire resist gear, predominantly. There are some other items they sell as well, but minimally represented. Alchemists will probably want to go Scryer since the Aldor don’t have any Alchie recipes. Other than gaining access to specific types of resist gear, the choice is completely personal. There’s no reason not to go with whichever group sells items or recipes you want to have for your character. Or specific items you believe will be strong sellers in general. Apparently the Scryers will probably less popular with Alliance players, so if you go Scryer you may end up with recipes that have higher demand (or less competition with other crafters). |

Re: Aldor vs Scryer
Allright here's a link to wowwiki's page. You can also find the rewards by looking up the 2 factions on thottbotbeta
however people in my guild that went far in the beta have told me that these infos weren't correct, and that several rewards were in fact from the opposite faction. Some of them have a very strong "coloration" in their name so i believe thotbot and wowwiki aren't 100% wrong. So.. Take this carefully :p http://www.wowwiki.com/Aldor_vs._Scryer |

Re: Aldor vs Scryer
from what im seeing on that link, IF all info is accurate, it will be a better choice for a warlock to go with the Aldor...unless, of course, one faction has a specific recipe you want. for me, it looks far more likely that i will have to go with the Aldor (stupid alliance making it necessary for me to be friendly...sigh)

Re: Aldor vs Scryer
Yeah, I'm agreeing with the above poster. Just looking at the info from WoWWiki, I'd have to say that the Aldor is much more rewarding for a Warlock. The only item that I saw from the Scryers that really caught my eye was the exaulted ring, and it was kinda outweighed by all the other goodies from the Aldor. I guess we will see if all that info is correct come The Burning Crusade.
