Skettis, how I loathe the

Skettis is horrible.

I'm down there trying to do the quest Adversarial Blood because I want a Ray mount badly. I've gotta kill those irritating talon mobs who spam spells and call lil birds to peck my eyes out, to get dust so that a Skyguard guy can make a potion that I drink so I can see GHOST irritating talon mobs who heal themselves and each other, so I can get SCROLLS to summon and kill ELITES so that I can go kill that OTHER GUY.

Meanwhile, these @#$ big birds knock me out of the sky, and glitch out all the time, making themselves invulnerable to my damage and they're still able to hit me. The same thing happens with the ghost irritating talon mobs in the treehouses. I aggro everything when I try to pull, and don't even think about jumping out of the treehouse because there is (naturally) a 72 ELITE REDWOOD TREE waiting at the bottom, along with more irritating talon mobs. Can't even run into the water to get away, because there are elementals there. And don't go AFK ANYWHERE because the birds will knock you out of the sky and eat you alive.

I'm all for challenge in a game, but this is retarded.

Oh, and did i mention that those elites I have to summon require at least 3 people to kill? AND the item for the quest that drops from that elite, only one person in the party can get! So a farming run of at LEAST an hour per elite may very well leave you empty handed.

Omg I havent been so angry at a game since I couldn't figure out how to take off in Falcon 4.0

Do you have the Ogri'la quests unlocked yet? Opens up several more skyguard quests that aren't nearly as painful. You could be wrangling rays and blowing up cannonballs too!

those birds have to be the most annoying thing in the game. Most people say when you agro one to fly straight UP in the sky. It works about 95 % of the time. One time i had one follow me all the way to the ceiling cap.

The birds also follow you underwater. How weird is that?

Re: Skettis, how I loathe the

lol yeah the place sux but its not unmanageable. if i get a bird on me in the tree houses and am low on manna or health i will move to the center of the tree house (like right where the quest giver may stand) and i will stop getting hit. yes i am in combat and can't drink/eat and also can't damage the mob but i am safe, and the bird will go in around 10seconds. The only way i can make sure i hit a bird in the tree houses is if i stand right on the edge of the tree house (nearly falling off) or around the center of the walkways, then i can hit them without any problem.

I have only been dismounted once when flying and that was because the birds first hit got me.. every other time flying straight up has saved me, i hit the ceiling then come back down at an angle and about half way down i loose argro.

As Wataru said i would get into the ogri'la dailies. most of them give skyguard rep. only downside is having to kill 5 odd 5 man leets to get access to them. but if you follow another group you can still loot what the leets drop for your quest and not need to fight one of them this is how i did all but the last one

That trick doesn't work with the Epic flyer, only the normal ones. I've taken to diving low over the water when they aggro. That way if I can't escape at least I fall in the water and don't take a huge HP hit.

Actually, the secret is when you see that you get attacked (icons go dark), with your mouse, point straight up; hit the forward key to go straight up, the hit the sideways key. This will make you "corkscrew" up. The bird will not touch you after the initial hit!

Oh, and btw, I DON'T have an epic flying mount!!!!

Re: Skettis, how I loathe the

personally i like skettis, i can solo the elite water elemental in the water and the tree things that walk around outside the water. nice drops, nice motes. and the birds dont bother me eather. but then again i do have my epic flyer so i just fly in random circles and they only hit me the 1 initial time

This has always worked for me. with or without an epic mount.
