Horde Levelling Guide?

Has anyone written one?

I used to play a desperately outnumbered Alliance char but swtiched to PVE b/c I could not stand the ganking andI have limited play time.

I re-rolled on a PVE server, but I'm horde and I don't know anything about the newb areas or where to go next.

I have a level 16 character - and Barrens is pretty boring. I guess I could stay there but I'd prefer to go somewhere else.

Also - would be great to get some wool somewhere.

Re: Horde Levelling Guide?

The most efficient way to level is to camp a spot of mobs one level below you and keep killing. The way I determined where to go next, after I dinged, was to use the thottbot NPC search.

You're level 16 so enter in level 15 to 15, select Horde: Aggresive, then hit Find. Sort by Kills. Choose a horde zone. I see Theramore Marines are a good choice. Must be a lot of them, and with another minute of research, you can see there's even a quest associated with what they drop. The quest is the Guns of Northwatch.

Happy Hunting.

Re: Horde Levelling Guide?

I had more fun finding the ones a level above me.... better experience! ol

However granted there is less down-time from killing those a level down.

Although not really helpful to you right now, I have written / am writting Horde leveling guides, just waiting for Akasha to format them and do my maps for me... Originally I was going to wait till I had all of them done up to 60, but I've written up to 30 so perhaps I should post them.

/poke poke nudge nudge Akasha ;)

Cool - I went to that pirate area - tough to pull single mobs though because they cluster up. I remember the experience wasn't that great either.

I am levelling a Frost mage along with my Warlock. The Warlock is far easier - since I have a tank and can hit multiple mobs as the DoTs wear down the enemy!

Re: Horde Levelling Guide?

these are my experiences playing warlocks so far, some grinding spots that might be usefull for you ( as an undead warlock)

1-12 : Tirisfal Glades area, killing mobs (humanoids, undeads, and spiders near brill) and doing some quests.
12-22 : Silverpine Forest area, doing quests and killing mobs (Undeads, spiders, and humanoids syndicate bla bla bla -forget the name lol- at 18ish)
22-36 : Hillsbrad Foothills area, quests and killing mobs (still syndicate bla bla bla in a building south of TM up to lv 24, killing spiders and bears up to lv 26 south of SS, gnolls in a farm near Dun Garok up to 28, Nagas along the coast near Dun Garok up to lv 32, Yetis in a cave north of SS up to lv 34, and ogres in Alterac Mountain up to 36)

I usually grind at Arathi until lv 40 before, but that was when I played on PvE server, now as I play on PvP server, I went to Swamp of Sorrow at 36 killing humanoid mobs north of the maps up to lv 40 then killing humanoid mobs along the coast near horde post south of the map up to lv 44.

44-52 : Feralas, killing Ogres (Ogre Warlocks,Shamans,Brutes etc) up to lv 48, then Harpies in ruins north side of the map near entrance to desolace up to lv 52

52-58 : Felwood, Demons FTW.....there are alots of Demons here, I heard Azhara too, but not too experienced there. Well, there are 50ish Demons in ruins of constellas (not sure the name), then 55ish Demons at north side of the map, up to lv 56. Then elementals at the cave near alliance's FP.

58-60 : Winterspring, killing Yetis or owlbeasts south of Everlook.

At least that're the same zones I always go with my warlocks, hope it can help you

For me, as might be for all warlocks, the best grinding spots are humanoid mobs, elementals and demons, they are easy to be killed and drop clothes (Demons and humanoids), as many warlocks have Tailoring as their proffession.

Re: Horde Levelling Guide?

I don't know how others approach grinding but here's what I've done and I am doing pretty well - steadily making progress. However, ,the drops are not great - but getting better.

Levels 1 - 10: Newbie zones. Can do the quests (it helps that you have a pet). I normally skip quests though since the rewards aren't that good.

Levels 11 - 17: As an undead warlock, headed over to Barrens sincde a friend of mine was levelling over there and was hoping to catch him online. Again, it's pretty straightforward finding mobs near the Crossroads and killing them. Centaurs, Raptors and Zheevas are good experience. It gets boring though.

Level 18-20: This is where I started exploring more. I headed West and went to Stonetalon Mountains. This place is abandoned
(at least on my server) so I've been soloing here without any problems. It's mostly been just killing spiders (level 18-ish) and I headed to the Venture Camp where there are goblins. They hit hard (maybe 35-50 with thrown weapons) but the drops are good and they also drop wool for those who need it for tailoring.

----
I never played Horde before, so this is what I've explored so far. I know that in the mid-20s there's an area with Centaurs near a lake but I haven't been able to get there by myself yet.

I think the toughest thing I've found is a solid area for farming wool - on my server, currently, a stack of 20 sells for 2 gold buyout. Since I need to level up first aid wool is going to become pretty important. :-)

This was awesome advice.

I am now 24 and a mean drain tank. I don't know if this is decent, but this morning just messing around, I handed in 2 quests and killed stuff - earned about 15k an hour.
