Official Den discussion thread for: Heigan the Unclean Please use this thread for all questions or assistance for this boss. PLEASE post any and all information and tactics you know of personally, or discover in your search for knowledge. Movies/Videos and screenshots wanted. Whether taken by you, or simply discovered/link to. (From a Warlocks perspective is ideal, however everything welcome.) Heigan the Unclean - 3,060,000 hit points The tunnel before Heigan is no longer a gauntlet. We skirted the right side and were able to avoid most of it. The packs just outside Heigan's room hit us all at once, so watch out for that. Raid Comp MT - warrior ~30k OT - pally ~32k Healers - priest, priest, pally DPS: warlock (0/41/30), BM hunter, full frost mage, rogue, Death Knight We were a 5/6 SSC and 3/4 TK guild before the 3.02/nerfs. Mostly T5 and badge gear, with a few MH/BT peices thrown in. We've now gotten our first LK raid purples (ain't they pretty!) Get ready to dance ... Phase One Spell Disruption
Phase Two After 90 seconds Heigan will teleport to the middle of the raised platform and begin channeling. Plague Cloud
Eruption
Plague Quarter: Heigan the Unclean. I'm not just gonna copy pasta their stuff here. Nice pics, good explanation. Strategy I can try to explain. No, there is too much, lemme sum up ![]() Two phases. Phase one, ranged and healers on the platform. Why? 300% casting speed debuff. Boss hits pretty wimpy, healers were bored out of their minds. Cinderhelm from tankspot.com recommends melee attack from the front (zomg what!). This will make positioning easier, and the boss parrying really is not an issue, he tickles. What matters is staying out of the poo. Lots of green poo erupts in 3/4 of the room. Don't stand where it erupts or you will be dead. Green poo erupts, tank moves boss to next safe spot. Pay attention to the safe spots. It will be easier for the tank to position if melee attacks from the front, otherwise melee will end up standing in poo at some point, and dying. So, green poo erupts,tank moves, green poo erupts, tank moves, rinse and repeat for about 90seconds. DPS the boss, but watch your threat, tank is moving a lot, so won't have super threat. Phase two starts when Heigan teleports up to the platform and begins doing 7000 damage a second to everyone up there. Get out! Matter of fact, get out before he gets there. You will quickly see when he is at his last green poo eruption. Once that clears, get off the platform. Now the green poo erupts faster, and everyone has to dance. Green poo erupts, you move, green poo erupts, you move etc. You will move all the way across the room, turn around, go all the way back, turn around, cross the whole room again, turn around, and cross 3/4. Our first attempt, 5 people died before we crossed the room the first time. Three people survived the first phase two. None were healers. Second attempts, 9 people survived crossing the room the first time, and 8 survived phase two. This is not a race. One tank, one healer and one DPS can finish this boss for you. It will just take all bloody day. You will regen some nice mana while running back and forth across the room, so that is no big deal. My healers gave me lots of HOTs when I was lifetapping, because they had nothing better to do. Seriously, healers were complaining in the middle of this fight. They were bored. Its all about the dance. Get in there, see where the green poo erupts from. Die. Try it again. Best advice I can give ya is to look where the poo in front of you is, and run to that spot when it goes away. If you are always running to the spot in front of you where the poo just left, you should be fine. This is the raid coordination fight. Everyone in the raid needs to know where to be when the eruption hits. You get caught in one eruption, you are going to die. During phase two, healers need to concentrate on not getting killed. Don't worry about healing people who can't stay out of the poo. One last note ... very, very, very pet unfriendly fight. I'm Felguard/Emberstorm. I had a phased imp out. 'Nuff said. |

A few warlock tips for this fight: Demonic Circle on the platform is a fine way to get back to DPSing fast and to avoid that horrible debuff he uses when you get close to him. Felguard is useless here. So is any melee pet, actually. Use your imp instead - feel free to have him DPS when you're all at the platform, but do remember to watch out, they do have a tendency to go off the platform to be in range. While you're dancing away, instant casts are win. Death coil, corruption, curse, whatever you can cast while moving. It all helps :P |

Grrrr, i hated this fight. Dunno what happened really, we had 3 atempts, we killed him on the 3'rd, but i was dead almost from the start of each dancing phase. What is very very important is to dance on your own really. Do not follow the others, cose you'll be out pf phase with them cose of lag. You need to learn the timings, and do it on your own. Altough i usually have between 35 and 50 ms ping during raids, I have seen people die in what looked to me as clean area. Also i always died when there were others very close to me(some even behind me) and yet they didn't get any damage. The green fire (umm, gief green fire) hits for about 6k on me. I can survive 3 ticks given my 22k health pool buffed. Just remember if you get hit once, you're usually dead. Simply becose it's just like trafic lights. Once you get the poo in one area, you'll get the poo in all areas. The fight is not hard, it's just about dancing. On our first atempt, we had 7 people dead out of 10 ![]() Only the DK tank left, a dk dps and a priest healer. They kept going for a loooong time, but the boss was dropping health very very slowly, so after we all watched from our safe spots (dead corpses don't get damage LOL) for a good 5-6 minutes, tank decided to wipe and try again with more people

In our guild we managed to tank the boss on the platform instead of doing him in the room. I think that having range dps+healer on platform is safer but some argue that tank could die by taking the eruption. Moreover, anti-disease totem could not be used if melee continuously move. Have you any other pros for tanking in the room instead of the platform ? |

The trick is abit to not run soo far at the end slims when you safty dance down at floor....just go to were the slim was stay there and turn back again...and yeah the demonic circle rules in there

One of our dps melee is assigned to drop flares in safe areas. Once we need to dance all we do is run from flare to flare and nobody has a problem with it. It's both great for the tank to know when to stop and the "less able" raiders to know how far to run. We managed to get the achievement for nobody dieing here on both 25 and 10 man kills using those flares. |

I'm having issues transitioning from phase 2 back to phase 1... either i go too soon and i get his damage on the platform or i dont go fast enough and i get his DoT as i pass him on the way to the platform. either way i end up dead. is there a trick i'm missing?
