Re: The Four Horsemen

25 man version as ranged tank:

Ranged tanking is very easy, theres two ranged tanks. Just something thats helpful first off, you can run to the back of the room into your position without pulling the bosses, so you can be ready for the the one your starting on when they pull.

Like I said before, this is a very easy job, If you currently tanking Lady Blaumeux, you should put up shadow ward when you can to help the healers a little bit, because in 25 man naxx, the shadowbolts she does will hit for 8-10k or so. Other then that watch the ground for void zones and move out of them. Theres a little green circle back there, a good spot is near it, but not on it, or at the edge of it. If your too close to the center you could receive the mark from the other boss.

Once you get the Mark of Blaumeux (or Zeliek) you and the other ranged tank will switch targets, and do it all over again. You have to have comunication though, because you may only have 1 mark, but the other ranged tank may have 3. A macro to /w the other tank works well.

Drain life, Siphon life, and Haunt are good to use if you can. Also you should be using Demon Armor for the increased healing taken. Finally, Remember, Your job is to just stand there and take marks and bolts, you dont have to dps, save your mana until the other 2 horsemen are down and your dps comes to kill the ranged, then you can go all out dps.

Re: The Four Horsemen

would the BT shadow resi gear be recommended or is the dps requirement to strict for this?

Re: The Four Horsemen

I wouldn't use shadow res, Its not high enough damage to bother with it, if your dying your healers aren't doing enough, or your standing in a void zone.

Also I wouldn't use the shadow res because only Lady Blaumeux hits you with shadowbolts, Sir Zeliek uses holybolts.

(Also another note, the debuff marks are unresistable damage, you can resist the mark itself, but the DoT from it isn't resistable)

Re: The Four Horsemen

ah well, it was worth asking

But I guess anything is better than having to stack 8 protection warriors in full Tier gear :>

Re: The Four Horsemen

It was worth asking, always better to know ahead of time. A few more bits of advice would be, if you have a piece of gear with alot of stam on it, but you dont use it, keep it on hand if your going to Naxx and will be tanking for this fight, Thats all you need to worry about is how much hp you have. So for pet I suggest using an imp, even though it doesn't stack with commanding shout since you wont be near a warrior for the shout anyways. Demonic Embrace, probably the best talent you could have for this fight. If you dont maybe bring a stack of buff food, even if you do have the talent stam food will help.

I have right now, 17488 hp unbuffed, no imp. Once I got raid buffs, spellpower/stam food, and my imp out I was up to about 24.8k hp I think. I never died due to lack of healing or too much damage, the wipes we had were from melee/tanks dying.

The Four Horsemen 10 man

I am told that I will be tanking in the Four Horsemen fight in Naxx 10. I was wondering if I will need to be any certain spec, or will any spec do?

This is my current spec: The World of Warcraft Armory

Re: The Four Horsemen 10 man

They'll probably make you tank in the back. All you have to do is be the closest person to them and you'll have aggro. Dont go in melee range though.

Spec doesn't matter so much, but I guess nether protection could help make it easier on healers.

Re: The Four Horsemen 10 man

Spec is not important for that fight the damage is pretty low...however 0/40/31 is not a good spec you would get a lot more out for FG over 1/3 backlash.

Re: The Four Horsemen 10 man

I agree the Fel Gaurd is nice, and I am thinking about playing around with it, but its not just losing that 1 point. I would be trading 6% crit for the Fel Guard... I am not sure at this point the damage difference between my imp and fel guard is worth 6% crit, but I might be wrong.
