Re: Kel'Thuzad
KT is a straight forward fight. When the fight starts you stand in the middle have an octagon of mobs that appear at the start. You can get an achievement for killing 18 abominations, before KT starts the real fight. Straight forward, have someone (tank preferably with range) pull 1 abom. and 3 will follow. I basically would seed them so they die faster. The main job of this phase for warlocks is killing the banshee's they are really slow and should die really fast, so throw your dots up and spam like mad. It starts off slow as usual then more and more appear. For KT, when he pops out, clear out all the left over mobs and then spread out, stay 10 yards away from the closest healer or ranged as KT will cast a mana bomb on you and it will hit anyone close to you. He also has a glowing red circle thing, that you have to move out of or else you will die. Sometimes there is a chance to be in an iceblock, just get heals and you live. At 30% he will summon adds and its just the usual burn him down with as much dps as possible. Best of luck. |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
I'd just like to add a bit to Jaeric's post, You must spread out because the iceblock will affect anyone in a certain range of you and freeze them too. It does 104% of your max HP over 4 seconds. A heal for 5% or more will do, and I believe Power Word: Shield prevents some damage. The adds at 30% start out weak, but buff themselves up over time. So you must burn KT down as fast as you can after 30%, it is now a DPS race to see if you can kill him before the adds kill your other tank. |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
You cannot trinket out of iceblock and once KT comes out and you've reached your spread out spot, drop a summoning circle and strafe left or right then dps. Any time you are in a shadow fissure, teleport out (best to have this as a macro with a /stopcasting before teleport). DPS until the fissure goes away then move back to you DPS spot and continue on (lifetap as you move) |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
Any affli warlock having problems at KT in 25 man? We killed him last night, on our 5'th atempt. Every atempt i was dead(except the last one when i got a BR for the last 15% of boss) Problem is i got one-shoted after the first aggro wipe, cose all the dots ticking. 30k frostbolts = dead jester. The tank said he doesn't have time to taunt before he fires that bolt at me. So am i the only one with this problem? |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
Does anyone know if it's safe to have your FG out on this fight, i.e., does Frost Blast, the chaining AoE, target pets? I don't want him standing up there with the melee if he's gonna wipe the raid. |

Pets are fine, but remember to call him back when there is a void zone. |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
Also its good to have certain positions for your healers to be in, in case they get ice blocked, they can heal each other. |

Re: Kel'Thuzad
I've never experienced any threat issues. As a matter of fact this forum was the first place I heard of the aggro wipe. Tank threat is so massive right now that you don't even have to worry about aggro wipes. (tanks doing over 4k tps suffices really) I noticed we're fairly weak during p1 for the skeletons. (at least affliction specs) While we're decent for banshees, I'd say p2 is much more critical. You gotta stay within 1 healer's range but be able to get away if you get mana detonate. On the other hand, you have to be close enough to fear any MC'ed folks if necessary. (for 25 man, if we're lacking on mages) So it can be a very patchwerk like fight if you don't get detonate, or MC (near you or yourself) or void zones. For p3 affliction somewhat shines (thought p3 % was higher than 30%) since drain soul kicks in and boosts dps. |
