Nice. Out of curiosity, did you do the red smoke with the diffusal cloud filter in photoshop?

are you talking about the red on "FEARED"? - Thats just outer glow.

the smoke/fire effect: "cloud + erase tool" for outer layer and "difference cloud" on the inner layer. The color is actually lighting effect set to "omni" and the two colors were red and yellow.
