Fraps help??

I play on a 25inch wide screen monitor, the resolution is 1920 by 1080. Should my in game video setting be lower than this?

My fraps setting is at fullscreen, what fps should I set this at? I don't have vegas yet so I'm using windows movie maker for a quick trailer.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about, when I play the raw footage it shows up fine for playback, however when I compress it the video has a top and bottom bar.

The video plays like this the entire way after compressing when I play it on the player.

This pic is showing the raw footage playback without the compression.

Am I compressing it wrong? I want the compressed playback to look like the above picture.

Re: Fraps help??

yeah it has something to with your compression settings. if I recall correctly, I had that same problem when I used WMM to compress my videos. When I later switched to sony vegas (and adobe premier pro) I found some guide I think on warcraftmovies.com about how to encode and it fixed that problem.

Re: Fraps help??

Before you drop a ton of cash on getting another video editting program I'd try two (free) options first:
1) Search around and see if you can find any way to do this is WMM. I didn't explore this option on my own as I had an easy means to get Sony Vegas. When I got vegas I stumbled across a way to fix it in vegas.
2) If that doesn't work, I'd look into free video editing software or even just try to find something that can let you do the editin gin WMM and encode it with something else.

*** Information added 5 Minutes and 9 Seconds later... ***

btw here is the guide I used on warcraftmovies:
WarcraftMovies.com - World of Warcraft Movies

Even if you don't get vegas, maybe some of the settings can help you figure it out on your own in WMM.
