Dreadsteed - He's just awesome

Last night, my guild leader and another member ran me and another (level 70) warlock through Dire Maul to get our flaming steeds. It'd apparently been a while since anyone had done the paladin or warlock mount quests so all of us were rather unsure where to go, except the rogue, who remembers the route extremely well from the countless runs he had done on his level 70 'lock. :P

The ritual got a little hectic at a couple of points when neither of us 'locks could recharge failed nodes due to the imps, though I suppose the ritual was chugging along nicely all along despite our worry. :P Only 'casualty' was the other warlock's Imp.

Now to name him...

They are awesome...but in the coming patch you can get them at the trainer at level 61...glad to see someone did it the hard way like all of us = )

You could say that, precisely because Dreadsteeds will be buyable next patch, my guild decided to band together to get us the mount, the hard way before it was too late. :D

Gratz man! I ran one of my guildie locks through Scholomance this morning, and will be taking him through DM tonight if he's on when I get home from work.

It will be really rather cool if they make the one you get from the Quest our current one, and the one you train from the trainer a different color.... say different color flames.

I doubt they will though, judging from Felsteeds.
I'm rather new to WoW though and I, regretfully, never knew that there was once a quest chain for the Felsteed.

Personally I find it rather sad that as new content comes out, few wish to do old content anymore.

If the trainer one is different (flaming hoofprints for the quest one, I wish), that'd be cool, though unlikely. Still if it matters, one could, if they wish, say they got it "the hard way", and one will always have the experience of the ritual, which those who bought their mounts will not. :P

Actually there never was a quest for Felsteed.....unless it was in beta...

From their standpoint, it is in their best interest to invest resources in new content. oh well.

It was never really a 'quest' though. You just ran and talked to a guy in Ratchet and he gave you. So yeah, the quest was 'find your way to Ratchet'...
