Hi people,

( mob still at 75 % health ) Im full affliction spec atm , level 30 , undead warlock green gear , only my staff and wand are blue... Re: Voidwalker
Apply DoTs slow and then you're okay at least to half health. When the guy runs after you just use drain life. It all depends on how you want to do it but to me as full afflic. drain life is my friend .....just know that you will probably pull aggro before the fight is over...

Let him get 2 taunts in before you attack.

Re: Voidwalker
Dont use immolate so early, it is a big agro puller, apply all your DoT's then wait for him to do a few more taunts, then do immolate.

Re: Voidwalker
in my experience the voidy was very good at holding aggro until about level 30, but after that he didn't hold it very long.
so i busted out the succy and the damage she was doing at that level was vastly superior to the vw while holding aggro for about the same amount of time. i ran with the succy until about level 48-50, when all of a sudden, big blue became very useful again. just my experience, hope that helps best- |

Re: Voidwalker
Void is the man just search for "drain tanking" you should learn good, new ways to manage you aggro from drain tanking.

Re: Voidwalker
With all the grimoire upgrades on Taunt, my VW was able to hold the mob to about 25-35%. Here was my standard grinding sequence:
1) Send in the VW, let him hit and get taunt 2) cast Curse of Agony 3) cast Corr 4) Immolate 5) LifeTap 6)Curse of Agony on the next Mob (if Mob 1 at 60% or less HP) 7) Send VW at Mob 2 8) Drain Life Mob 1 9) Rank 1 Drain Soul for Mana 10) Hit Mob 2 with the rest of your cast sequence. You can keep doing this for around 6-8 mobs before stopping to either take one mob and Health Funnel your VW or give hiim a chance to consume shadows. If you have a significant amount of +damage/+shadow (which I would not expect at low 30s with basic gear), the Taunt just won't hold long. Hope this helps |

Re: Voidwalker
Just to check something obvious - you have trained up your VW fully.
I say this as a level 70 who respecced to Destruction and VW didn't hold any aggro whatsoever, I discovered I'd missed out on two grimoires worth of training (think it was suffering). Sure enough VW holds aggro nicely again. |

either A) Succy + Drain Life + 5/5 Fel Conc or B) DS + Drain Life + 5/5 Fel Conc Using a VW is still "Void tanking". |

Re: Voidwalker
you have a few choices if your build is fairly conventional:
Blueberry>>> Corruption, Curse of Agony, Siphon Life, Drain Soul(rank 1) this is slow but sure and he should be able to keep agro. Succubus>>> Corr, Curse of Agony, SL, Life tap & Drain Life, much more agressive, fast kills, and yes you will be drain tanking for real, which means that you will take damage. Look for +shadow damage gear (which is rare at your level) to make life easier. You might be aiming for this build over the next ten levels, at which point summon your imp, put it on passive and use it as a battery. Drain tanking. When you Absolutley, Positively have to kill every last Mob in the room. Last edited by Akasha; April 29, 2007 at 02:23 AM.. Reason: Orange text = Akasha text. |
