I got my Dreadstead

After an hour and a half of trying to get a group together and finding a warlock with the mats, I got my epic mount. He looks so cool and man is he faster than a regular mount.

Dreadsteed woohoo! [Thread Merged]

I have be 60 for 10 months now and 70 about a month after BC came out and only now have I managed to get my Dreadsteed. I found it so hard to get a group that even after completing the entire dreadsteed quest line and paying for the mats I still bought the epic riding skill and got a BG epic mount.

But then on Sunday 4 of us, 3 level 70's and a 60 lock,
owned dire maul and got the damn fiery horse. The event went well but there is one thing that makes it a pain that I don't see mentioned in the guides I have seen.

When you kill Immol'thar his body, which is huge, does not despawn. If you kill him in the summoning circle his body gets in the way of the candle, wheel and bell making it a pain to see and fix them throughout the fight. In fact the first time I attempted this fight, when i was 60, the body was right on top of the candle making it impossible for me to fix it. So I would recommend pulling Immol'thar off of the circle before you kill him so you can avoid this.

Other than that it's a very fun and crazy event even at 70.

Re: I got my Dreadstead

Congrats!

I'm level 61 and I did this the other night w/ a 70 hunter. It took us 3 tries in the Summoning Circle to rid the imps and demons. What a blast that was with the 2 of us and our pets. The hardest part was keeping the wheel, candle and bell up since I was the only one that was able to keep them going. I was actually a little surprised that we were able to do it w/o more people.

Enjoy your new ride, I know I am.

Re: Dreadsteed woohoo!

Grats, just got mine last week as well. I know what you mean though. His body was completely blocking my ability to fix whatever it was he was on top of. Fortunately, he did despawn before the end of the fight and I quickly fixed the failing node. It was practically resting on the ground already. Don't know if you can pull him off the alter, but it sure would make things easier.

Really? You did it with just you and a 70 hunter? Oh there is hope for me yet. Have a 70 warrior that will tank for me. I've been trying to find others to run it too. I guess I should go get my key for West and get the tank to meet me there.
