immune to charm

Hello! I have a question for my fellow warlocks of the den! Last week I went into the Arathi Basin. I decided to use my succub so do some crowd control, (succy+fear remove 2 enemies at the same time for a while and was quite efficient last time I tried it). But then, as I started fighting, I couldn't charm anyone. Everytime the immune yellow text poped out over the guys (bloodelf mage, orc rogue, etc.). It was the first time it happened so I didn't really cared about it and changed to my felhunter. But later in the wilds I encountered a level 45 tauren hunter (I was 49-50) and he too was immune to my succy's charm...

Does anyone have any idea what happened? Did it happened to someone else than me or is my computer just wierd?

Re: immune to charm

Diminishing returns: Seduce and Fear share the same counter how often someone if feared/seduced. After a couple of times people get immune unless they die or leave combat. So when they stay in combat for a very long time fear and seduce stop working.
Note that the fear/seduction could have been by someone else (fear priest AoE for example).

More than that, if you get a "immune" at first try, it is currently a buggy resist message as some forum friends pointed out.
Try to Curse Of Shadow your opponent and try again.

Re: immune to charm

Just a minor correction. The diminishing return is reseted after 15 secs if no other disabling habilities affect them (it's a little bit more complex than that actually but you will be safe if you wait 15 secs).

Re: immune to charm

Really wierd... it happened again...this time it was against a level 34 Blood Elf pally... he attacked me (I don't know why, since I'm 53 now) and when I tried to seduce him for fun, the immune popped over his head!!?? He didn't seemed to have battles recently since we were on a boat... and so my succy killed him soon after. I'm starting do wonder if there is something corrupted in my files or on the server because I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to happen...

Re: immune to charm

Oh, this is a special case:

Paladins can make themselves invincible for a short amount of time. During this phase they cannot be attacked and crowd controlled.

If you try to fear or seduce (or just attack) you get an "immune" message.

Re: immune to charm

I'd like to remind you, that the "immune" message should be a "resist" quite often since 2.x, I don't know the exact cases, but there is something severely buggy.

The is still a base resist, even if you have high spell penetration (Argh, I said the word!) so you will get a resist every now and then.

The WoW Client says "immune" in that case, which is at least misleading...

Re: immune to charm

I know that I'm supposed to be resisted some times... the thing is... every player I try to charm pops up the immune! I can charm mobs no problem, but no players... I just can't charm any player
