Imp and Mana Regen -- Info and Advice Please
Okay, so since I'm wearing the Oblivion Robes, I figure I can put on another piece of Oblivion for the 2-piece set bonus and get some good results with Dark Pact.
So, for a week or 2 now I've been wearing Oblivion Robes + Shoulders. This gives my pet 45 mp5. Now combine that with Dark Pact, and it sounds like pretty hot mana regen rates to me. But, is it really? Does anyone have the numbers for what the imp's normal mana regen rate is? In terms of mp5, if he's regenning tons then another 45mp5 may not matter. Is 45mp5 50% of his basic mana regen? or 5%? I don't know where to find the numbers. So, any info/advice appreciated. Oh, and I'm curious about the mana regen rates for the other pets too, in particular the Felhunter, since I love to use him while mote farming or PVP'ing. Thanks!! |

Re: Imp and Mana Regen -- Info and Advice Please
My experience in raiding with two pieces of Oblivion is that the bonus is unnecessary. As long as you're keep Siphon Life on a boss and Life Tapping periodically to get the benefit of that, you shouldn't be running your Imp OOM even without the Oblivion bonus.
If you're looking for his specific regen, go to the pet tab (bring up your character sheet, the pet tab is second from the left) and mouse over his spirit. |

Re: Imp and Mana Regen -- Info and Advice Please
Doogless, one thing I've noticed over time is that whether or not I have siphon up, a life tap or two causes heals to come my way. The healers don't differentiate between the Locks and nothing I say will stop the incoming heals. So, I find that when I'm specced Dark Pact, it's the better route to go, as it taxes the healers less without asking them to engage their brains and differentiate between me and other Locks.
Of course, one of our guildies posted a "12-step Guide to Topping Healing Meters." I think my overheals may be well attributed to this little gem of his: Quote:

Re: Imp and Mana Regen -- Info and Advice Please
One of the things that I have found help tremendously with the imp and Dark Pact is to get him buffed before boss fights. Take him out of phase shift and ask for Blessing of Wisdom and Brilliance. Mark of The wild is nice too but not necessary. As is that spirit buff from the priests. I haven't had any paladins or mages complain about it. These buffs plus the oblivion bonus makes him a complete mana battery. If I tap him out of mana by the time I go to tap him again he is full.

Re: Imp and Mana Regen -- Info and Advice Please
i'm glad to see a thread already about this, my question in relation to the topic is this...does anyone find this 2pc set bonus to be so useful that they infact purposely pass on certain gear, or keep better gear in their bags during boss fights, becase of the belief, that it's needed or wiser to do so? for intance "i must gear myself around this 2pc bonus so i don't go oom" or sumthing like that?....stupid question i know...i ask because i'm preparing to get the spellstrike hood soon
and if i put it on i'd lose the bonus...now i already know that the spellstrike hood is awesome for raiding...but i also have my t4 shoulders and gloves that i'm torn over wearing or not...i can use the d3 shoulders and i have the robes on to maintain the bonus and wear my hand wraps of flowing thought instead of the t4 gloves (that i acquired last nite...and still torn over which is better) Last edited by desertkoffin; October 11, 2007 at 02:30 PM.. |

Take his phase shift off of automatic, meaning, right click on his phase shift button on his casting bar so that is doesn't glow anymore. Don't forget to put the phase shift back on automatic if his soul purpose with you is as a mana battery!
