Is Doomguard worth the Hastle?

I am about to be 6o for the first time with my warlock. Because of that I have been looking into more online help to be prepared for the levels after. The quest seems alot easier than the dreadsteed but thats not saying much.
It seems really powerful, but now that locks can have felguards it just doesn't seem as good. I would still like to have one for the sake of boasting but is it really worth it?

well remember that to summon it you need a 5 person group and somebody dies. so i feel like you won't be using that much. i don't have mine and i've never seen anyone use one.

Re: Is Doomguard worth the Hastle?

If you look at in a pure time spent questing:utility gained way, there's no way to justify doing the quest. The Doomguard, while very powerful, is excruciatingly hard to use effectively.

If you feel like doing it just for your own entertainment, I'd recommend it. The questline isn't too hard, especially if you do it a few levels past 60, and it's fairly interesting. I did it when I was bored at 60 with nothing else to do, but if you're still making the push to 70 there's really not a lot of draw to get the quest done.

Wait till your bored at 70 to do it, that when my buddies bugged me enough to go do it. I could have solo'ed it but they wanted to help . Also tricking lowbies is fun when you actually summon him, nothing like good ol` Russian roulette.

Re: Is Doomguard worth the Hastle?

yeah, i waited till 60 to do doomguard, it's two fairly easy quests in DM and winterspring, then a little trip to blasted lands, wham you're done. i soloed the whole chain, but expect to die at the last part if you solo, doomguard likes to bring friends who hit like trucks

To trick lowbies to summon a doomguard in The Crossroads would be nice . It would be like the infernal, just way more crazy.

Re: Is Doomguard worth the Hastle?

Short answer: no.

Long answer: it won't have any real use at all, but if you like the challenge and get a new toy, the quest is perfectly soloable at 70. At 60, most of it will be: some sections might be a too frustrating trial and error process, that's it.

Re: Is Doomguard worth the Hastle?

Thanks everyone, now my mind is alot clearer. I guess I'll do it only if my friends want to help. Otherwise I think I will prep for dreadstead quest instead.

Oh yes, by all means do the Dreadsteed quest first.
