Arena and Fellpuppy

So for those locks who use felpuppy against the pallys and healers- do you have him auto cast everything- or do you manually try and silence while they are casting heals? I have him auto casting- set him on the healer and go about killing things- but he doesn't cast it when it is the best time- even when the cooldown is up it seems- so was wondering how you all handle him- my job is usually to kill the first target with our rogue- while trying to control or limit the pally thats always on the other team- I have been letting my felpuppy go- and then DPSing as much as I can to down the first dps target- but I don't think thats the smartest way to go...any thoughts/help?

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

may i suggest using a key bind (mine is mouse button 4) its quick, easy, and makes it much more reliable to cancel heals from a healer.....

i dont have a mod that tells me my pets targets castbar but if you just keep an eye on the healers hands

tab+ silence keybind

works pretty well for me

or you could just fear em

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

You see a healer,

CoT up all the time.

Fear whenever you feel appropriate.

DC to interruupt heals etc.

Key bind silence, I use T and then just spell lock a cast for a longer lock down.

If your with a rogue then CoT the healer, fear the healer, DPS with the rogue, fear again or even DC, dps, usually the healer will try to come out with a big heal at this point - so spell lock and then just nuke the DPSer down.

The rogue could add in a kick or blind along the way.

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

Excuse me, noob question

How do you bind a key for a pet action? I usually work with macros for that purpose.

Thank you

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

put the macro on an actionbar and bind that actionbutton to the key you want.

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

or you could simply press esc, go to keybindings, scroll down to "secondary action bar" and bind the corresponding key (which should be something like Ctrl+1) that has spell lock to what you want

btw just additional information if you ever want to bind stances as a warrior or forms as a druid that is called "special action bar"

so Secondary Action Bar = Pets

Special Action Bar = Stances,Forms, Stealth (warlocks dont have these)

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

I generally /focus whatever healer I want to harass and immediately CoT them/fear them to start with.

Once they pop trinket/get decursed I have a casting bar mod (Quartz) that monitors their spells and as soon as the Greater Heal starts (or equivalent) I spell lock immediately (G15 keyboard and a variety of hotkeys is immensely helpful), recurse and Fear inbetween dotting/nuking whatever target we decide needs to die first.

Generally works ok ;p

Re: Arena and Fellpuppy

Here's a few macros that I use w/ the felpup:

/focus

sets up my current target as the focus

/cast [target=focus] Spell Look

tells the Felhunter to go spell lock the healer I've set up as my focus.

Make sure you have some sort of enemy cast bar set up so you can see when they're healing; and Curse of Tongues helps immensely.
