Bottom line - succy or felhunter in BGs?
I have not been in any arenas yet (time constraints) but have enjoyed the BGs quite a bit. I am affliction specced. Here is my question:
As a general BG strategy, which is the best all purpose pet to have out? In my 40s I used my succy and had limited success with seduce. In my 50s I switched to the felhunter and have had better success with rogues. I have probably had a little better success with casters as well. Let's assume I will not change pets much in a BG. Is the general consensus to run with the felhunter instead of the succy? |

Felhunter FTW. Succy gets killed too fast and seduce gets broken too easy. Not to mention felhunter has spell lock, paranoia and devour magic.

Re: Bottom line - succy or felhunter in BGs?
I would go with the felhunter, the times ive tried to use it on rogues(if I knew one was present) I would get sapped then he would murder my pet, of course that was before the trinket change. It is still true however the succi is a weak pet over all imo.

I differ from you folks, I'm always rollin' with my lady in purple.
If I get sapped, boom seduce. Negates the effect of the sap and we both wait it out, I pop out of sap and death coil. Shadowfury and knock off a Soul Fire. The rest is simple Warlock basics. I almost never use my Felpup for anything. ![]() |

felpup FTW! Anti rogue buff (paranoia i think it's called) keeps me from getting sapped/pounced and being able to DC a stealthed rogue/druid is the best thing ever... then there's always spell lock
I never use succy in Pvp..the only other pet I'll use is the infernal in AV... that's always a fun time ;) |

In Bgs, I roll with my Imp, world pvp always my imp. Arenas Felhunter always.
Im lazy when it comes to mass pvp. I usually run out of mana before I get murdered so Imp is handy. |

Re: Bottom line - succy or felhunter in BGs?
I think the answer to this question depends on your spec more than anything else. If I was destruction specced I would most likely use the succy to get melee off of me - felhunter really can't do this.
However I am hybrid demo/affliction and the succy just doesn't last long with soul link up, so for me in arena's it's the felhunter all the way. He can silence, debuff my opponent, cleanse magic effects off of me, gives me a nice resist buff and has enough health to survive most fights. If the melee decide to take out the pet which I have seen on occasion, they will take an attack power hit. If I am going one on one with a rogue, duel or otherwise, I will use the voidwalker for the extra 10% damage reduction which stacks on top of your resilience and the 20% SL damage redirection - can make you very annoying to kill. When I'm specced full affliction (no SL) I will use different pets depending on whether I'm defending, attacking etc. - the only one I really don't use then is the VW. |

Re: Bottom line - succy or felhunter in BGs?
Felhunter and don't look back.
Seduce is good for one thing only. Felhunter offers many more options and options are what you need in the arena. Seduce is way to easy to break if you have a good teammate. If you are unable to break seduce yourself, then your teammate or mates sould pick up on that and quickly break the hold making it not very useful. Once in awhile seduce can be worthwhile, but more often than not, it will be unuseful. Felhunter is king. In opposition to proposed opinions, paronia is very useful against stealthies and all the other tricks the fel has makes it invalubale against casters. No matter what spec you are... |

Felpuppy, he's my favorite. I love the chaos he causes casters, such fun.
