Dreadsteed quest changed?

I was just asking on my server if there was a warlock with the mats required for the summoning available to help with the dreadsteed quest.

2 people in the channel said that the quest had been changed and the warlock with the mats now HAS to be on the quest as well. They said that another warlock can not help you at all unless they have the dreadsteed quest too.

Is this true? Will I have to buy the mats myself to get the dreadsteed?

I was assisted by another warlock on my dreadsteed quest. He already had his mount and we used his mats to get my mount. This was the middle of June.

I just ticketed a GM and he says that you need to buy the items and they are not reusable. /cry

i just got my steed about a week ago. the 3 summoning mats have always been soulbound, so the owner of the mats needs to be there. no change that im aware of in the past week. the gm probably meant that you have to get all of the other mats to do the quest, the dust, the ore, the shards, etc.

i helped 2 guildies get theirs 3 days ago. We used my mats.

Nothing has changed.

Me as well, just last weekend... my mats where used... Ended up with one very excited guildie. =)

i got mine upon turning 60 about 2-3 weeks ago.. you can get help from a lock who still has the mats.. unless they just changed it in that amount of time

As of 8/19/07, only the person who needs the Dreadsteed needs to have the quest and someone else can have the Lodestone, Jar, and Glyphs.

I don't know if you can have three people with each of the three, but it's kind of silly.

To elaborate, we had 3 warlocks who had their Dreadsteeds and one who needed it.

I just did this for a guildie last weekend, he had the quest, i had the mats, he got a fiery horse.
