Felguard...Why people bash them and the spec?

I just started playing my lock again after a long hiatus, my friend had me addicted to rogues so i lvld one to 70, and fount out how much a pain in the *** it is to raid as one.

Moving on, i decided to pick the lock back up, and i went felguard spec, and its just the utmost fun ive had in awhile, it so beats drain tanking, just the power...its insane.

My main questions is why do people bad mouth it so much?

Is it like the hemo build for warlocks or something?

I guess people think there no skill in playing it as FG is fairly self sufficent, hence the name n/guard. I think it has been nerfed a lot but was quite powerful they prob remember when it could solo some classes lol.

Personally, I'm not very fond of the Felguard. I had a lot of fun playing it, for a short period of time.

I found that the warlock was quickly shadowed by the pet. For the most part, I could easily send my pet in and go take a break until the fight was over, I had little tasks to do other than push the pet attack button.

I also found that in order to even get that spec, i had to pass on a lot of good talents that i've grown to love. I quickly found myself using up my mana too quickly and that bugged me. Naturally I take it out on the pet :P

When fighting a Felguard spec'd Lock I think a lot of people become frustrated. It's a very powerful demon, and as such it makes fighting the actual warlock very difficult. The Interrupts, and the cleaves add up quickly, not to mention that the Felguard has high magic resistance. This is perhaps the biggest reason for Felguard hate mail. Lots of people just get frustrated and don't know what to do about them.

Would I nerf them? Would I want them removed from the game? Heck no. Keep them in unchanged. People will learn to deal with them as I have. They do make for great PvP fights.

I have tried all builds and I really like each one. I am not 70 yet so I will be playing around with all the build again once i hit the cap but I use the FG build because I like his boost to damage and the buffs that he provides. However I have found it to be like anyother pet where he cannot take out a same level mob by himself.. He doesn't replace the lock he just helps.. your own demon warrior. I just wish we could upgrade his armor/weapons..

I was affliction for all of my leveling and then thought I would try a full demo build with a FG. PVP was great and farming was easy. Then I started running Kara and Gruul's Lair and well.....dead pet = 0 dps from it. I was always oom, at least it seemed like it compared to my former DP build. Just my experience and opinion. A lot of people love it. It just really didn't fit a raiding playstyle for me. I do hate them in battlegrounds though.

Yeah, I really enjoyed my felguard, but found he was too much a pain to keep up in 5 mans..I didn't like using my HP bar to replenish his, when Im used to using it to fill my mana bar.

Also, what I really love about a felguard build is the huge bonuses from going that deep into the demo tree.

But I finally retired shaaghun. In favor of dark pact and huge shadowbolt ruin crits. If you aren't the one being targeted in PvP and you see one running around, shut it down with a banish. then eat the running warlock. usually they aren't smart enough to resummon one, they panic and flee.

A lot of people just aren't happy unless they're complaining about something. The Felguard's a new toy and you'll find most of the people complaining consider themselves to be "old school" Warlocks who did everything with just the Imp, who couldn't be buffed, and didn't nuke.

There's nothing wrong with the Felguard, and a Warlock who masters one (masters, not just able to summon) can be deadly with it. Ignore the complainers, stay here were 99% of the members actually have a brain.

Yea i got the same shit when i set my rogue to hemo but when i could be no 2 on the dps charts with shitty gear, yea.....i think people just complain about it go with the flow.

So far i love the felguard at level 66, hell i even took out a 69 BM hunter with this massive demon of killing power.

Ive been playing locks since beta, and i remember when people used to call Soul Link is for nwobs, shit....i used to be able to take 3 people on with soul link, i was also decked in tier 2 but hey, who cares rofl !

All i know is i love my felguard, he pwns, i still do good for dps for now.

Part of the reason people insult the Felguard is because of how easy Demonology spec makes 1v1 PvP. Given equal gear and all your cooldowns, it's unbelievably hard for a Demo warlock to lose simply because they have 20% more effective HP than anyone else.
