A question regarding pet buffs
Forgive me if this subject has been covered elsewhere in the Warlock's Den, but I honestly couldn't find it ... My question is regarding pet buffs, and how they could affect damage bonuses ...
I run a lot of battlegrounds, as I really enjoy the large scale team aspects. As I am getting ready to respec to an SL/SL variant that will include 3/3 in Demonic Knowledge, I'm wondering if the bonus granted will take into account any buffs placed on the summoned demon. For example, a Power Word: Fortitude buff would add +79 stamina, an Arcane Intellect buff would add +40 intellect (assuming both are max level; I do a lot of AV rounds). If taken into account by the Demonic Knowledge talent, this would equate to basically +18 extra spell damage (total between both buffs of 119 x 15% = 17.85) over & above that which is already granted by the talent. Another realistic example would be if there is another lock in your group that keeps his imp out, giving the +70 stamina buff. Does anyone know what the deal with this is, or is it something that I will just have to experiment with ... Thanks in advance for your replies ![]() |

Re: A question regarding pet buffs
Just going to tie my question to this thread.
Question is about pet buffs in a raid and demonic sacrifice. Scenario: I'm running the Felguard in an instance and the FG has lots of buffs. I come to an anti-pet encounter and I don't want my pet to die and lose all these buffs. Can I dismiss the FG and get say a summon a Succubus to demonic sacrifice, finish the anti-pet encounter and then resummon the FG with all buffs intact? (abeit durations reduced with time as per normal) |

Re: A question regarding pet buffs
Answer to Thralock is YES!!! Your pet will be full buff when you resummon it!
It is the most important thing you need to learn if you want to raid with FG : dismiss and resummon with instant summon. To make it easy, just do a little macro with /script PetDismiss() You can also check some post in the macro section to find some other example |

Re: A question regarding pet buffs
Thanks Poupette! =) Was going to run a test using Sporling Snacks but always keep forgetting.
I will have to play around with that macro, but I'm curious as to whether you need /script PetDismiss()? I mean, currently I just start summoning without dismissing. I suppose if FD is on CD, then 6 seconds is a long time for a near dead pet to sit stunned (risking those well loved buffs), but if the encounter is pet unfriendly then I usually (or at least probably should) have had the correct pet out first. Those 6 seconds are SO long. I suppose its about saving those buffs. |

Re: A question regarding pet buffs
The dismiss script is just an exemple I give of macro I use to keep my FG buffed. If I know a fight is pet unfriendly, it just summons another pet.
But it is useful if your pet is near death and you don't have time to heal it. I just clic the macro, he didn't die and I resummon it when I can afford 6 seconds without moving. The dismiss+instant resummon is realy useful because the FG keeps his buff and is full HP and full MP, ready to go to fight.^^ PS : Answers for world2er is YES of course!!! |
