Dreadsteed Frustration!

So as you all can tell from my profile, I'm a 60 lock on shandris (US PVE)... and trying to get help is going so badly. Just now I did a /who in IF to find help, and I found a 70 lock. So I whispered him asking kindly if he had the mats and could possibly run me through DM sometime... he said "for how much?" Now that doesn't bother me as much as when i told him I only had about 25g to spare and he said "forget it." He proceeded to tell me that he wanted money equivalent to the cost of the mats - 250g. Well if I had that kind of money I wouldn't have even asked in the first place!!!!

Is it just me, or doesn't anybody know how to be helpful OR kind anymore?! It's so frustrating that everybody expects payment or some sort of favor in return for helping their brethren out.

Anyways... if you are alliance on shandris and have the mats are willing to be helpful then please pst me (Shebrew).

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

That's just the one lock. For my dreadsteed, a rogue that I didn't know waited for me for 30minutes while he cleared the way to the Scholomance Alchemy lab. And then another lock doing the quest who'd bought the mats said he'd share it with me.

Just keep trying your luck.

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

I'd totally help you out if I could, unfortunately I'm on Draka. I've helped well over 40 people get thier mount on this realm by now, partially due to them tracking me down via the list on this website (have you tried it?) and just hearing people asking in general and LFG chats.

As Rutiene said, keep trying you'll find somebody.

I wouldn't let one lock discourage you. Have you searched in the forums for someone on your server? I would help but I am on Hellscream

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

That's just sad to hear. It's really a fun quest and easy to run with a couple 70's. I wouldn't understand taking anything more than a standard tip (certainly not 200g). If that ever happened within the guild, there'd be words effictive to amp'd, trink'd, CoD in their head.

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

its a tough thing these days with tips for running through any instances. i get hassled with "2g for a stocks run" (which would take about 20min if they keep away and dont agro) when i am in SW. With all the dailies available, I can make easily about 60-70g in well under an hour.

I have nvr charged for dreadsteed runs. i'm a nice lock !

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

That is harsh. It's hard to get people to got to Scholo but virtually impossible to get people into DM - most Alliance just don't want to travel that far. I got lucky and ran with another lock who was getting boosted by his guild. With three 70s a DM run should take no longer than 45 minutes.

I've let all my guildies know I have the mats and will run with them. For randoms I used to charge around 50g but that was when I was still levelling. Now I do it just for kicks though someone lost out on a free run when they acted like a spoiled child because I said I couldn't do the run straight away. Lesson: if someone is doing you a favour, be nice to them.

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

That's just plain ugly.
I found help for only 50g, and i gave the lock 60 for the help. He found a group, and we even helped another lock for free!

Keep trying your luck on /2 and you'll find the one eventually.

Re: Dreadsteed Frustration!

dont let one bad lock put you off......i do this quest every time im asked by anyone on darkspear.....always for free and always able to bring along a healer so it can be done with just 3 of us anyway just to know that the new lock that gets the steed is buzzing when he does
