Big Felguard question and another to boot LOL

Right now I am a level 45 and working like crazy to get a Felguard.
BUT now everyone is oh man forget that after the next patch they will be a joke. WTF is going to happen? Is it a BIG NERF COMING?
If not I will have all talents in demon what do you do dot and watch?
IF SO (CRY) stick with affliction ?

<< Leveling question split to it's own thread here >>

thanks big time for info on these questions

Well, I can't say what the state of the nerf is, but I can tell you if they nerf the current felguard it's not going to be worth anything.

I kinda hope they do, because if so then you can bet it will become a trainable skill. It's barely worth the cost as it is. A no brainer if you are already heading deep into demo, but easily skippable. And this is from a career demo lock.

I'm affliction now BTW. It really isn't worth all those points. Great for solo grinding I suppose, but I'll take all my new damage plzthxbai

Ummm, I love my Felguard and I think it's a godsend.
He hit's hard, he can tank, he boosts my spell damange for a considerable amount, he gives me +30 spell ressistance to all and he can intercept + Soul Link. I wouldn't give him away for a world (Solo and PvP I mean).
I don't think he should be a trainable skill (other warlocks are just being jelaous :P) and I feel he is more than worth it.

Oh I so hope that never happens. I'm a Demonology lover since the beginning and I wouldn't give him up for the world, hardly skippable. I complete agree with Cvijafaq, he tanks well, hits very nicely (400 - 600 crits nearly every third hit for me), resistances, and intercept in PvP is a godsend when you use it right.

The problem I see with SO many Warlocks that chose Felguard, is they haven't properly spent the time learning to use him properly. They just send him in like he's any other pet and then complain when he's "ok I guess". In PvP more than PvE, if you learn when to use the intercept, what classes to put him on and how he shines the most, he is fantastic. Using him to protect me, I'm alive 9 times out of 10 at the end of a good battle (zerg =/= good, so not talking about that)

A Felguard controlled by a smart Warlock who knows their stuff = deadly, at worst a pain in the opponents rear end. A Felguard in a normal Warlock = a fly you swat away. The difference is in the Warlock not the pet, and for that I hope they do not make him a trainable skill. Why should I have to share such a wonderful pet that I am willing to sacrifice my talent points for just because all the mediocre Warlocks can't stand the other kids have a different toy?

If the Felguard gets nerfed and/or becomes trainable... then I want Unstable Affliction to as well. Why should the "other Warlocks" get an extra DoT, that's not fair. *

(* Imitation of all the tantrum throwing Warlocks that want the Felguard (cake) and eat it too (Affliction/Destruction) *

Re: Big Felguard question and another to boot LOL

I have to 100% agree with the above fel-guard lovers. He is a worth while demon to grab if your already heavy demo, and in the hand of a skilled warlock, he is godly( lol yo-yo in pvp). The up-comming "nerf" refers to SL going to 20% from 30%, but the damage going up from 3% to 5%. with some decient gear(5/8 felheart/nemisis for resistances) he is a beast. I can only pray that thier is a level 70 epic set that will do something similar for the warlocks. All in all, id be more focused with saving up the gold. As its all a matter of play style and how you think. If you like him cool, if you don't thats fine as well.

Find out for your self, forums(especially the official) are full of to much ego to rely on. Posts that claim that "blah blah blah spec ROCKS!" and that " XXX spec sucks, why r you guy N0obs?"... stay away from them! Get the money, research some popular specs to try, spec-ing heavily in to all of them is worth it, if nothing else for research alone to see what feels like "you"

Re: Big Felguard question and another to boot LOL

Even if the felguard does become a trainable demon, there are heaps of talents in the Demonology tree that go a long way to making him a damage dealing tanking beast. Talents that someone going heavily into afflictioon or destruction will not have. A demonology specced felguard will have 15% more int and stam, do 35% more damage and take 15% less damage.

Re: Big Felguard question and another to boot LOL

from my incounters with felguard (im affliction) is they're they're the one pet you don't want to leave unbanished. they hit pretty hard. plus add on the damage from the lock you might not be making it very far if your not careful
