Buffing your pet

All right, this seem SO strange to me, but I'm going to ask here just to be sure: a was making and instance with some guild members, and a 70 level priest. I've just recently specced felguard and I'm still getting used to it; I asked my priest to buff it with the same power word: fortitude that he gave me, and he answered it was not possible. He claimed that buffing hunter's pets is no problem, but lock's pets can't be buffed ..since this seemed SO iffy, I asked if maybe he just tried in the past to buff plane shifted imps or invisible succubi, but instead he told me that he had problems buffing felpups too.. this is so strange to me, since I'm quite sure my pet has been buffed in the past other times, and I can even buff it with useless spells like detect invisibility.

Any insight?

Lazy priest. You pets can be buffed, with the imp, you just need to turn off the phase shift on the imp to get him buffed. I don't believe the Succy being invise will be missed when group buffing.

Re: Buffing your pet

if your pet is out while you're getting buffed... it generally recieves the grp buffs anyway (phase shifted imps excluded )

either way that priest is wrong =p

Re: Buffing your pet

I have played a Priest as well as my Mage - I've always been able to buff Warlock Pets. Both single buffs as well as being hit with the group buffs.

Your Felguard demands buffs! Not only that but he can be buffed quite horrifically while in raids (one memorable instance springs to mind with an arms warrior, MM hunter, Feral tank and Paladin healer.....) which is where a lot of his utility comes from.

Just get the lazy priest to try it next time and remember that pets need love too

/agree. Next time, get that damn priest to buff your un-phase shifted imp, bubble him and then turn on phase shift again. Just for fun.

Imps look so cute when bubbled.

Re: Buffing your pet

Seems like a good place to ask this: can the imp receive all buffs, like Arcane Intellect, Divine Spirit and Blessing of Wisdom? These would be great for my Dark Pact-specced lock. Once the imp has been buffed can I put it back on phase-shift or will it lose the buffs?

They buffs stay when he shifts again. A fully buffed Imp (with a fully buffed master) can do some nice damage as well.

Re: Buffing your pet

Speaking of buffing...do you buff your pets with stat food? Two that I know about are:

Kibler's Bits - Increases the Strength and Spirit of your pet by 20. Lasts for 30 minutes
Sporeling Snack - Increases the Stamina and Spirit of your pet by 20. Lasts for 30 minutes
