I dont bother with Curse of Agony, I use CoS instead as I will be using shadowbolt at some point, and if in a group with a shadowpriest it also helps

Well I've found what works best for me is letting the FG grab agro off meele mobs first then to apply Corruption and Curse of Agony. From there if I am low on health I will Drain Life till I get up to a comfortable level of health / mana. If I have plenty of health / mana I will SB till dead. If I am going up against a caster I will ussually open with a spell on the mob to get that caster to start casting so that the FG can stun them out of the first cast. Otherwise they are treated just like thier meele counter parts.

I do find though if I am chain pulling alot of mobs my pet tends to end up using more mana then myself. So I end up Life Tapping not for myself but for my pet. When I am attacking more then 2 mobs I also find it useful to redirect my pet onto those mobs that have not been attacked yet to make sure he maintains a high threat on most all targets.

Re: What are the basics to making the Felguard/Lock relationship a success?

I've been levelling my Warlock for a few weeks now.. currently up to 52. (See my blog on here for details)

Anyway, I respecced at 50 and gave up the instant Corruption to get the Felguard. (The next 5 points are going back in there).

I've been experimenting a bit.

I usually pull with Curse of Agony, because it's low threat. Send the FG in, then Immolate and Corruption.. Life Tap then Drain Life/Soul.

Ok, pretty standard.

I have also tried pulling with Curse of Weakness. This helps keep the FG health up quite nicely. It surprised me. And, of course there's minimal threat since it does no damage.

I found that Curse of Agony was not running it's full length, so wasting the highest part of its damage.

I'll continue to use this for a while.. doesn't seem to seriously impact kill speed so far.

For efficiency:

Intercept (when up)
Curse of Agony
Corr
Life Tap
Drain Life

For emergencies (overpulls), throw in Immolate and Shadowbolt.
