Warlock Pet Scaling

As some buddy warlock asked me explicitly for it, I thought I should share what I have collected for him, I don't know if we have it collected here already.

Please do correct me if I am wrong or if I forgot any information.

When playing Demonology builds (especially Felguard) the value to certain stats should be given with a certain awareness:
Some stats scale with your pets, some don't. This applies to both, Raiding and Arena.

Stats that scale:

15% of your total Spell Damage is bonus to your pet's base spell damage
57% of your total Spell Damage value is bonus to your pet's base attack power
33% of your total Stamina is bonus to your pet's base Stamina
33% of your total Intellect is bonus to your pet's base Intellect
35% of your total Armor is bonus to your pet's base Armor
40% of every school of Resistance is bonus to your pet's resistance

Stats that don't scale:

Spell Hit Rating - a pity, yes
Spell Crit Chance
Spell Penetration
Resilience
Haste Rating
Spirit
Mana Regeneration
All melee stats

This leads to the conclusion that stacking the scaling stats should be favored to a certain extend.
Indeed you need 202 Hit Rating in raids and Resilience is important in PvP. But damage and stamina have a slightly higher importance if your performance relies on your pet.

So get your pet buffed all the time, all the buffs, use the special pet buff food, use damage trinkets, your FG's damage will be increased instantly (not like DOT). Crit and haste rating does nothing to your pet's dps.

Talking about pet food, I know of

Kibler's bits (+20 strength and spirit)
Recipe: Kibler's Bits - Items - World of Warcraft

and

Sporeling Snack (+20 stamina and spirit)
Thottbot World of Warcraft: Sporeling Snack

..are there any other pet food I don't know of?

Nah, those are the only two but suit our needs perfectly depending on fight concerns.

Re: Warlock Pet Scaling

Howdy,

I'm the author of the SimulationCraft multi-player dps simulator. I've recently rewritten the architecture to support physical dps classes. This enables me to (finally) support warlock pets.

The scaling info in the OP is very, very useful..... but I could also use the level 70 base stats as well. The pet profiles on the front page were a good start, but lack the detail I need.

Any help you can provide will be most appreciated.

I believe if you look at the stickies, those pages are in the process of being updated. Not sure if the updated versions might have any information that would be of assistance to you...

Re: Warlock Pet Scaling

Digging around I found the following info:

======================================

Pet scaling

* 1 stam gives 0.3 to your pet.
* 1 resistance gives 0.4 to your pet.
* 1 armor gives 0.35 armor to the pet.
* 1 spell damage gives 0.15 spell damage, and 0.57 attack power to your pet.
* 1 int gives your pet 0.3 int.

Pets have 5% base crit, and a ~9% base chance to miss (on bosses, our pets don't dual wield).
I did not remove the stamina and intellect gained as bonuses from a naked warlock, not sure how it would interact with base mana and hp. I'm only going to list the pets that have a chance of been used to DPS. The felguard's DPS stats will include talent enhancements, since you can't get one without speccing for them.

Imp:
145 strength
38 agility
214 stamina
316 intellect (2568 mana)
263 spirit
0 spell damage

Succubus:
153 strength
108 agility
302 stamina
172 intellect(2880 mana)
122 spirit
286 AP
Attack speed: 2.0,
Base weapon DPS: 70.8 (121-162)

Felguard:
153 strength
108 agility
351 stamina
196 intellect(3157 mana)
122 spirit
323 AP
Attack speed: 2.0
Base weapon DPS: 101.9 (176-232)

======================================

Things I still need to know for each pet:

stamina_to_health ratio
intellect_to_mana ratio
mana regen formulas

Re: Warlock Pet Scaling

Discussing with some hardcore FG raider he told me he uses scrolls all the time (Agility/Strength/Armor) on his Felguard. This is just an addition to Strength Pet Buff Food as it all stacks. I wonder how much DPS both damage scrolls and the buff food really makes (+20 Agility, +40 Strength)...

Re: Warlock Pet Scaling

Pretty sure 1 str = 2ap for Felguards, and 1 agi = .33 crit / .3 dodge / 2 points of armour (as per Warriors?).

It all adds up, I once used a Felguard in a party with a Fury Warrior/Paladin/Druid Tank and Enhancement Shaman - ok, Felguards don't benefit from WF at the moment but everything else was quite spectacular with scroll/food/party buffs
