Re: Dream Pet

hmm, actually, i feel like it IS a trainable pet, maybe not as much as a hunters pet, but very much trainable.
We just take the smarter and for us easier route.
As a huntards pet needs to actually train a skill, we can just delve deeper into magics, and get us a pre-made spell that increases certain carasteristics for our deamon, such as torment, torment 2 etcetera.
Both the demon and we have to be well enough endowed into the evil magics to be allowed a certain level of training, but hell, we cast a spell, link them to it, and "feed" it to them to get better at it. I would enjoy that more then doing the same action over and over again with 1 pet.
And when we summon, i guess we do summon the same one over and over. With his/her abilities and all.
After all, when a demon dies, he just tuggs back to his or her dimension of evilness, recovers fully and we can resummen them.
( dismiss, and when they return, they still have the buffs, die and they loose them beceause only they essence returns ? )

Re: Dream Pet

If we don't get any new pets, I hope Blizz does something wild and fun with the ones we have.

How about a special sacrifice option, that kills the pet, costs a shard, and puts us in banish bubble graphic effect, but is an aggro wipe similar to ice block.

And just like Ice Block, it should wipe any debuffs on us as well. Even if it didn't wipe aggro (seeing as we have Soul Shatter for that), I'd still like to have an ability to just dump a ton of bleed effects, curses, poisons, etc. They can even make it a new talent in Demo tree as far as I'm concerned.

Re: Dream Pet

I'm dreaming of a supporter-class demon pet.
One that has, say, 7 buffs of which you can have 3 on auto-cycle at the same time. For example:
- Armor buff
- Mana regain buff
- HP regain buff
- +spelldmg
- +spellcrit
- +resistbuff
- +castspeed

Now a warlock has to choose which he wants on autocycle simultaneously. An afflock might have +mana, +spelldmg, +hpregain while a destrolock might prefer +spellcrit, +spelldmg, +castspeed. If you want to turn on a fourth buff you first have to deactivate another buff. The buffs can't be dispelled (like Pala aura).

In my opinion *that* would rock. And give locks a whole new dimension of depth and strategic decision making.

The health- and mana-regain buff could have a "demonic twist" to them as in: health-dot-buff grants 2% of total HP every 5 seconds but sucks away 1% of total mana every 7 seconds. Like a mini life-tap.

Same could work reverse for mana-dot-buff. And +spelldmg would reduce your spellcrit by *twice* the amount. And again, vice versa for +spellcrit.

Blizzard.....MAKE IT SO!

Re: Dream Pet

Actually, when you learn the summoning, you make a pact, probably a blood pact, with said demon, meaning your bonded with them and have to subdue their will(Think succubus might convince you to loosen it based on comments) and control them through the link, or they control you. Due to this pact and link, you can use magic to open a small portal with massive energy, some components, and your own body, in order to draw them through. The body part is just for laziness, the link makes you a shortcut to them.

When they die, their bonds to our world are simply broken. Thus they are violently sucked back to the nether, with the violent bond breaking, it dispels the magics on them. When we dismiss them, we release the bonds in a way that only sends them back, not dispel all things on em.

Re: Dream Pet

I know this would probably be disgustingly overpowered, but still fun to think about. I'd like the ability to have 2 of our demons out at the same time. Make it the 51 point demo talent probably. But it would be pretty sick in pvp to have the felguard and the felpup out at once. If people hate locks now, imagine if we had 2 pets!
