Voidwalker
I don't know if I'm the only one, but I tend to use my voidwalker pretty much all the time. Is that a good thing or bad? They're excellent tanks, and I know no warlock likes to be attacked, but you get it so early in the game it makes it seem as if it isn't as good. Should I be using something else for PvE or stick with the voidwalker? Or does it simply matter where I am and what I'm fighting.

Re: Voidwalker
All through leveling my lock I did two things:
Spec Affliction Use the Voidwalker Having said that, I no longer use the voidwalker (kinda miss the guy) and I am destruction specced due to personal preference. I would encourage you to keep on doing what you are doing as I personally found it a great way to level. |

Re: Voidwalker
Use whatever works for you. But if you LIKE demon build and VW like I did then you will LOVE demon build with Felguard, he is insane can take a bunch and dish it out too.
Felguard is my favorite for trash mobs and griding, for certain PVPing I use my Felhunter and for Raiding i often get out my Imp for the large boses, sometimes Succy for CC in instances. |

Re: Voidwalker
Funny thing happened last night. I was only on for a little while before running ZF with my rogue, so I was goofing around with my warlock in Tanaris at the Pirate Cove. I had to leave my computer briefly to check on my daughter, so I moved my warlock over near the fence just inside the complex to where I believed I would not be attacked. I came back about 5 minutes later, and my VW is just running back to me....
. He chased down a pirate and killed him while I was gone. I did not have a scratch on me. I found it funny that right from the beginning my VW had aggro while I just stood there and the pirate never even bothered with me. ![]() Another thing right before that happened: I was grinding out some of the pirates for the quest there, and this level 50 rogue aggros 5 mobs. I see he is in trouble, so I invite him to group so I can at least get assistance with killing Firebeard (one of the pirates attacking this rogue, he is also the target of a quest). The rogue actually declines my offer, so I pull aggro from firebeard and am fighting him when I see the rogue die and the pirate he was fighting comes to me and I kill them both. ![]() Moral of this story: don't decline an invite from a warlock (or really anyone for that matter) when you are fighting 5 mobs at once. He just looked silly after that. |

Re: Voidwalker
Hmm. I have noticed the VW to be mostly useless at 70. With all the specs esp Demon, but even Afflic.
Even tho his Torment and Suffering were supposedly improved, he just can't hold aggro for more than 2 or 3 DoTs - let alone a Destro volley. Better to either kill mobs quick AND get CC by using Succy, kill quick using Imp battery, or become accustomed to Felpuppy eating things. |

I love my Karmir aka mana battery most fun ever is actually taking a couple hits and draining right thru it without even being affected i love the fact that i can take 3 same level mobs at the same time dot them up and drain and as long as i'm paying attention hit my drain soul at last second get mana, drain the next's life, drain soul, and finish the 3rd off tap 1 time be at 3/4 + health and move on to the next.I'm know level 69 should tap 70 tonite which will rock because in my bank ready to go i have the full FSW set, the Spellstrike set, the Belt of Blasting, i'm Exalted with Scryers for the Bloodgem and the ring, I have the crappy level 70 staff that has the skull on it (dont recall name) but atleast it has a +40 Spell damage enchant on it and its better than my level 61 blue dagger with 68 Spell damage and 40 sd enchant on it. i should gear up at 70 rather nicely since i've done all my prep work getting ready for 70 i cant wait to see what my Drain Life will go to once i hit 70 with the epics on and finished gearing up.I spent my leveling till 64 as a demo spec and now i wish i would of swapped out at level 30 ish for drain tanking its SO much more fun LOL. |

Re: Voidwalker
I used VW for a lot of level's until i got dark pact. Then i made the switch to imp and just uses him as a mana battery.
Dot up, Life tap, drain life and at the end DP twice and onwards to the next one. Doing orange to red without to much trouble. ![]() Simply loves the little guy, and the best part is, he dosent complain when i steal his mana relay much better then his "can't we all just get along" or "this was not in my contract" when you use him to deal damage. |
