I'm demon spec currently raiding Gruuls and Kara. I've always used FG in 5 man instances with plenty of success but 10-25 man raids I have always brought out my Imp.

Without a doubt the blood pact buff helps the raid group. Everyone appreciates and recoginzed the buff. However I am certain its hurting my DPS on the meters quite a bit. Lets face it, the Imps fireball attack is pathetic.

But should I even care? if sacrificing my DPS results in the parties improved survival chance I'm still getting gear, badges and honor.

IMO Felguards benefits dimishes from the party size. 5 man definetly but having an extra mele DPS on 10-25 man raid I'm not seeing it.

Felguard DPS not as expected

I'm using our dear spreadsheet to have an idea of the dps of various builds. The excel file is of course theoretical, however I deactivated most of the party buffs in order to make it display an expected value very similar to the one I experience against dr boom or other mobs. The only exception is felguard. While imp and succubus deal their expected 110 dps, felguard does around 170 instead of the 250+ written in the sheet. Looking into it, it seems that it displays a melee normal attack way higher than the real one. Is this something happening only to me or what?

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

Is it taking into account Demonic Frenzy? I'm neither a number cruncher nor a full demo lock anymore but that's what jumped out at me.

I could be way off, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

I know my felguard does a lot more than 250 dps in a decent boss fight. He alone does as much damage as the best tank so he adds a considerable amoutn of dps I just don't have the figures on me.

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

Yes, I considered frenzy (just made it melee a group of basilisks outside Shattrah, and resetted Recount once he hit 10 in Demonic Frenzy). Your raiding experience may take in consideration various buffs on the felguard, however I'm talking about an unbuffed felguard, and modified the spreadsheet accordingly. In fact all the other pets, now that I've removed the buffs in the excel file, are listed with the same damage I experience (more or less). Just the felguard is way off, with 265DPS insteand of the 170-180 I experience; in particular it seems the the simple autoattack is valued way more in the spreadsheet than what it really works for me

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

With auto cleave turned off the spreadsheet has my FG's dps sat at 205, got fairly near that on recount unbuffed, averaged at 190. The sheet isn't flawless ~
Also -
Still to do : Felguard stats. I assume there's more to be done.
Raid buffs + Debuffs will and do have an enormous effect on his dps ~

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

doesn't your FG put out more damage depending on how high your (typically shadow) spell damage is.

Also would you take your mana feed into consideration. A felguard that has full mana is going to put out more damage than one thats always drained.

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

I've got around 1000 bonus damage, and was keeping an eye on his mana. The spreadsheet should take bouts damage in consideration. However what was lacking was not the cleave damage, but the base one.

Re: Felguard DPS not as expected

did the sheet take into consideration the basic misses ?
fellfuard has a 20% missrate i believe ? not shure, but might account for the difference
