whats the fastest way to stop your pet?

Sometimes (Felguard is nortorious for this) I can maybe accidentally target a mob in the very far part of the room by accident and send my pet chasing after something I don't want him to go after.

I currently use a macro to stop my pet from chasing after something when I dont want him to. Its like /petpassive /petfollow. However this don't always work good at long range.

Should I use the Demon sacrofice or basically that's the very best and moost relaiable way to stop your pet dead in his tracks when get get away from you.

BTW I do keep him on passive in raids and instances but the problem mainly is bad targeting on thing on the opposite of the room. Esp. if things are not marked, I sometimes tab around can pick up thing far away from where the fight is.

Re: whats the fastest way to stop your pet?

What do you do that makes him chase after a target? By Default (i think) Shift + T makes your pet attack. You may want to disable this key bind, or set it to something else. I discovered Shift + T accidently when My pet kept randomly attacking mobs. I had set T to be my push to talk key, and sometimes while fighting and talking I'd hold shift to cast a secondary spell and my pet would go off as well. Oops.

you could also make a key bind that is on something very easy like your mouse so if it happens you just click that mouse button and he returns to you, perhaps set it so you click for passive, shift click to attack?

I use the tab key to scroll through mobs. Thats why on trash mobs that don't get marked you have to be SO SO careful you have the right opponant in focus becuse you else you can send your pet gong after another mob way in the back of he room by accident.

control-1 is the default. but the biggest thing is to alway's have them set to passive. anything else and they always run away from home to darn fast. LOL

The default auto attack should be ctrl 1 to set your pet to passive/stop attacking and recall it back to you it is ctrl 0.
