Anyone have anything at all major pet wise to share?
So far all I have seen is minor changes to the pet abilities so has there been anything major done? I quit to take a break in march and just and so bummed out not to see anything yet in the beta that makes me want to go come back and play my lock. Correct me if I am wrong but so far I have not read about any new pets nor a real way to make doomguard and infernal as useful pets for demon speced locks that wont turn on the lock and kill him? I still dont understand blizzards reasoning for the infernal and doomguard, I mean why should a lock have to risk their life to micromanage a pet thats weaker than their regular pet exactly, a pet I might add that can turn on the lock and the locks party at any time and kill them and ruin a boss encounter? Yeah I know its still beta but after all the love being given to hunter pets and buffs like the ability to train their pets talents I was hoping for atleast a real revamp on the infernal and doomguard to make them as useful as our other pets and as reliable. |

I think there is a post here somewhere with that honestly. From what I saw on the post there were massive changes to scaling and such. |

I don't think the Doomguard or Infernal were mean't to be used in a boss encounter. They have their uses, like releasing on a lowbie town :P |

As with the huge amount of changes I keep my fingers crossed for usable Infernals and Doomguards. They should be just normal pets, with high utility quality and severe limitations (they are not Felguards after all). A new learnable pet for all wouldn't be too much to ask for, too, but I rather get 2 more usable pets. And I think we all agree: Pet Talents would be awesome. Better yet: Pet gear slots :-)... |

I read somewhere (here me thinks) that they are changing the Infernal somewhat. I believe the current plan is to have him only last for 1 minute as opposed to 5 minutes and in exchange the cool down is now only like 15 minutes or something. SO, take an already useless pet, cut his survival time, and increase the frequency with which you can actually waste the mana to cast him...WOOT!! GREAT THINKING THERE!! Seriously though, I can summon both Infernals and Doomguards. I used to tool around with the infernal in AV. Just wait for the allies to rush the RH, then BOOM!! Hi! My name is Infernal (I don't even think they get real names...LOL). As for the Doomguard: Total number of intentional summons is currently at ZERO!! I have had him proc off a Curse of Doom more often than I can count. I think the last time was on Fathom-Lord in SSC a few months back...THAT was fun!! ![]() Anyway, back to the topic at hand: Give us a new pet you don't have to train into...something USEFUL. You neutered the Fel-puppy (no more paranoia) and gave the blueberry a relatively useless stealth detection. My imp and Succy are so fragile it isn't funny. I love my Felguard, but I would like something new...even if it is just a new look or the ability to Pimp My Pets (weapons/armor - pet specific so other classes don't QQ). Hell, my Felguard doesn't even have the "I play all my records backward" emote...WTF? Some do...some don't.

I'm going to have to agree with this one. I got all excited when I saw the hunter pet talents and began searching for something about lock pet talents. When I came up with nothing it was a huge let down. The Infernal and Doomguard are worthless (though I heard the old AV trick was awesome to pull, just never tried it). I haven't even had the luck of getting CoD to proc the Doomguard. Major disappointment there. ![]() Something else needs to be done. |

As I understand it, the important change to the infernal is that he now lasts one minute then dies. ( More in line with what happened in WC3, although in that they lasted 3 minutes. ) So no more worries about the infernal turning on you - it's another 'oh shit' button now. How good an 'oh shit' button remains to be seen - I'm hoping that retuning of the infernal isn't complete yet, and that the doomguard also gets some love. |

First off major correction to about 3 of the posts here: Infernal only became useless last patch. It was a 5 minute dps increase of 200 or so on any boss flagged outdoors which is a lot between bt(1) MH(all) and sunwell(3). Last patch they broke it and now it's stuck at level 50 so cant touch the bosses. oh and 3 bosses in ZA |

It'd be nice if you were allowed to summon the Infernal indoors. I always considered that to be a major limitation - I know he comes down from the sky etc when you summon him but that can be changed. I tried to summon him on the last boss in ramparts the other day just for a bit of fun - quite plainly outdoors but nope not allowed. |
