Imp gone wild!
Wondering if anyone has noticed this recently.
I almost never never have my pet on agressive. Maybe i'll switch it on when I'm doing battle grounds or screwing around in stockades solo but other than that he is always set to passive. But its now happened to me multiple times recently in ZA and Karazhan and a few other spots. My pet dies, maybe I die and I rejoin the group resummon my imp. Somehow immediaetly after summoning he gets set to aggresssive and starts throwing fireballs, in effect pulling the next mob. My imp thinks he is Leroy Jackson apparently. Of course it makes my look like a HUGE asshat beause the lock should never pull and the few times when it did happen it was after a hard pull or wipe and people are all sitting around drinking and rebuilding health and mana. People scream the obvious. Take your pet off aggressive!!! No shit. I now have to summon my pets away from mobs and other toons so in case he does go aggressive he usally won't pull. |

Re: Imp gone wild!
Hehe, I've done that a few times... oops.
Actually one mystery that took me a while to solve was that even while on passive my pet would randomly charge off and attack any mob that was close. I was freaking out about it and getting ready to submit a ticket about it when i figured out the cause. I had vent set to push to talk, and I happened to set my push to talk key to the "T" key. Now, normally that wouldn't be a problem, except that Pet attack is set to "Shift + T" and occasionally while talking on Vent, I'd hold shift to activate some macro and off my pet would charge!!! |

Re: Imp gone wild!
We were at Magtheridon preparing for the fight. I pull out my succy and before I can hit the Demonic Sacrifice the gates close and the event starts. Half of us were outside and we wipe big time. We start to laugh and go back for another try. At this time no one knew what was the problem.
Next try, same stuff, we buff up, I pull out my succy, bam, the gates close, we wipe. No one says a thing on Vent. After 5 seconds..."Aghaaaast, why was your succy on aggressive?".... whoops! |

Re: Imp gone wild!
Hehe, I also wiped entire raid on maggy, had my imp left on aggresive after a duel outside..
On thing you should do is put your Imp on defensive, and turn off autocast on firebolt. If you are grouped with tanks for blood pact they will also get fireshield from him... adds a tiny bit of threat. /Zetra Pipham always on defensive, but safty on, no firebolts |

Re: Imp gone wild!
I think the OP understands that pets should be on defensive or passive. The way I understand the question to be was if anyone else has notice a pet coming into play hot(aggressive). I for one have noticed my imp more so then any of the others attacking when I could have sworn he was on Defensive and I had not been hit.
I put in a ticket on it, but to date I have heard nothing back on it. |

Re: Imp gone wild!
!!! Now i had my Felguard out and the same damn thing happened to me AGAIN. And a few times during the night i noticed my pets set to something other than passive.
I was thinking about incorporating a macro where it automatically set him to passive once he is summoned. /summon Felguard /petpassive Howevever since summon felguard isn't an instant cast it was having some problems doing this. |

Re: Imp gone wild!
I had some issue's with an over enthousiastic imp aslo, was thinking it was me hitting keys by accident ...
EEEK ! Are we on the dawn of the Revolution of The Imp's ? Didn't Blizz 'fix' our Succy and by 'accident' nerf Doomguard and Infernal ? Maybe this is side affect ... |

Re: Imp gone wild!
Glad to see there are some others out there. Never had this kind of problem before keeping my pets on passive but its seems like there should be some way to control this also by using the the /petpassive line in a macro.
