Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
I now ride pure evil!
Last night I completed the entire quest chain(s) for the dreadsteed. Started at 10pm and finished at 4am. I had help from a couple of friends (70 rogue, 61 priest) for the scholo part, then a 70 hunter joined for the DM portion. We wiped during the summoning (stupid imps) but when we came back, the circle was still up and no more demons. Tried to summon the steed, and walla! Took them down quickly and I cheered out loud for the first time in this game. It was a little exhausting, but well worth the sense of accomplishment for those who still wonder if it's worth it. I couldn't have done it so quickly if it wasn't for this site! So thanks again to all who put this together. Jimmyman Epic Mounted |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
Great news to hear. The dreadsteed is one of the coolest mounts IMHO. You can get some great screenshots sitting behind that flaming mane!
It took me a lot of work to get mine too. I didn't have any help and was surprised when I found it difficult to solo DM. I don't know if it's because everything in there does Nature damage or what, but I was level 70 and having a helluva time. Of course, I couldn't farm any shards either which was a problem (grey mobs). It took me 4 or 5 times over a week just to get all the pre-req done and I finally got the last pylon offline and had like 2 shards left. In other words, no way I was gonna be able to do this myself. I pinged this other level 70 lock and he was cool enuf to help me and paired up I was able to head back to Shatt, load up on 20+ more shards, and we took the boss out + the dreadsteed part and there was one point where I had like 10% health and almost bit it. When I got the mount I was so damned happy you can hardly imagine. Alot of work, but I feel great riding that mount knowing how much it took to get. -Aka |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
WTG!!! I have an awesome guild, at 60 my bro who is also a Lock said "What are you doing?" I said I'm off to get 61, why...he says "No you are NOT! You are getting your Dreadsteed!" He rounded up another member and a couple pallies (who are now members as well) and they helped me gather all the necessery accoutrements and I headed out for parts unknown.
I blasted thru the runs up till scho, we ran that and then the group joined in for DM. All told about 4 hours. He even had the stuff I needed for the summoning and told me to "Keep mine for the next one". I never understood that and was so excited I didnt think to ask until I filled out my info for registration on the Den today! I have no idea how to do what he did but I am ready and willing to help the next guy! Getting 70 is a definite feeling of satisfaction but getting my Dreadsteed was the ULTIMATE WoW moment. The reason being I chose a Warlock over ALL the other classes because of his mount. I took a full day to decide between horde and alliance because the Undead Lock has a skeletal mount. But I'm a good guy at heart so here I am...now that I know the Death Knight has a skeletal mount, life is good! ![]() |
