gratz Jiimyman ![]() I would also like to thank the people that provided the guide for the dreadsteed on this site. I just got mine today and it only took about a hour for the final part. I had a 70 destro lock and a 70 pro pally to start. We got to the second set of pylons before we summoned a 70 priest and fury warrior. Following the information provided in the guide made this quest very easy. No wipes and only 10 soulshards use. Now I too ride will prue evil. ![]() |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
I love that mount. I also love the battle. It's even more epic if you're all at-level. I was 60, in a group of other 60s (it was pre-BC, we walked both ways up hill in the snow), and it was truly EPIC. I've helped numerous guildies and friends get it, while I'm at 70 with a few other 70s, and it's still exciting but nowhere near as epicly challenging.

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
Grats Jimmyman, you have officially become a true warlock now. I got mine a few weeks ago and it was one of the best moments in this game for me. I still love riding it around, even in outland.
@Akashin - this is hard to say, but we are still clothies and thus must tread with care when riding solo (*this is where you cry*). As cloth wearing casters, we are frail. This means we must nuke our enemies quickly in order to avoid prolonged damage. What I am saying is that you should not feel bad knowing you could not solo DM. Of course, at level 80 things might be different.... . |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
GRATS! I just shake my head when I see a 60+ warlock on the L40 mount...I just don't get it!! I also did this quest pre-BC and it was just AWESOME! I have since helped several locks get theirs, and I have a friend playing a lock alt who is next on my list.

I just got my Dreadsteed last night with 4 other Warlocks last night! It was tough goings and we had to call in all our favors but our guild pulled through and came to our rescue. We began w/ a level 70 Shaman, then a level 70 Hunter, Swapped in a level 70 Rogue to pick locks, and finished w/a lvl70 Druid
But we got it done!We did Sholo and DM back to back. I had to beg the mat holder to be sure he had 20 shards, he started w/ 6 So we farmed shards for a while. No one had keys for anything so we did the die/Rez thing then had to summon the Rogue to pick the last lock. We wiped a few times and our helpers changed out due to time constraints. We all were whispering freinds and Guild mates to help. Finally we began to spam guild chat with pleas and folks realized we were all together and we got the help we needed. It was a sweet moment when we hearthed to Shatt and all 4 of us popped out Dreadsteeds @ the same time! We were running around in circles like kids on brand new big wheels I warped to Orgrimmar and stood outside of the Bank for a bit to take in the sites before logging at 230AM Who needs sleep I got my Dreadsteed ![]() |

^ THIS! I actually picked skinning and mining leveling my lock to 60 so I wouldn't have to buy the materials ( I made lepremessiah in june of this year) and thus save me some coin in that department. I had all the material I needed (that is, the stuff I could get pre-quesr) by level 50, at 60 I did all the way to scholo but then hit a wall... no one was doing it, other locks, rogues, pallys, no one! it took me a full 2weeks to level to 70 because I spent 2hours in LFG chat looking for party members for the place, I eventually lucked out and got a party together (3locks, pally tank, holy priest) none of them 70, we blazed through scholo, and destroyed DM... I was embarrassed that I had to run around on my felsteed in outland, but I would have been more embarrased if I was 70 riding an ostrich! I think it should be a pre-requisite to being a respected lock that you have your dreadsteed.. but thats just me !!!! if ALL else failz, I hear gold makes people happy!!! |
