Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
Got my mount about a week ago. After being 60 for a week, waiting for help from people, then getting htere & them not knowing wth they were doing 3 times, I patiently awaited the help of my GR* guild, Raiders of the Outalnd, Dreanor realm, We ran trhough that place like a bat outta hell, and it took a 70 druid, 70 warrior, 63 lock, myself lock who was 61 & a 65 pally about 45 minutes to get from the instance to the riding my new beautiful baby outta there. Anyone who needs help, I am willing to help & use my 3 items, (PLEASE DON"T WASTE THE 450g!! add in trade chat for locks with them) to get you that steed the proper way. Trust me it was well worth the wait!

You know what is sad? The Dreadsteed is now trainable and stories like these will be no more....

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
The Dreadsteed quest chain was the best in the game for me by far. I loved that one. Hate that Blizzard has made it trainable. I convinced a lock in my guild to do it the old way and I think he appreciated it after all was said and done. Great Job and Congrats on your new ride.

Well I got my dreadsteed so very long ago but on my pally I'm getting the charger the real way, as well as swift flight form for my druid.

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
The best part is...it's freakin' trainable now for new locks
![]() Wearing my mount as a badge of perserverence is worthless now because noobs get it without the quest chain. It took me til 67 to get mine.I want a refund Blizz and some gold for all the time it took me. ![]() |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
My little Blood Elf pally alt will be doing the quest old school (pallies are in the same boat with their epic mount).
And I'm not going to feel like I've been taken for a ride. Why? 1) If you want the epic mount from the trainer you still have to pony up* for the riding skill. 2) I already have most of the mats I'll need. 3) The quest line looks like fun! 4) I'm stubborn. and finally 5) Blood Elf pallies get a cool tabard for completing the mount quest. IMO anyone who completes (or has completed) the dreadsteed quest should get a followup quest (or an achievement) to get a title or tabard or something to say "I did this old school!" And while they're at it, give pallies the same, since ally pallies are missing out. *See what I did there? |

I've done it for both my horde/ally locks, and have helped a good many. Completing the quest, whether for myself or assisting others has been pretty epic, to excuse the pun. To me, it is one of the only times I felt a true sense of individual achievement in this game. Conversely, while helping others complete it, I still had the same chills when the spirit of the steed appeared. At the very least, I would wish to see the final run in Dire Maul available, if not the whole quest, it was there that I made many friends and had some of the best times in game since I started playing |

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
aww, its not that hard to solo level 55-60 dungeons, i've done all of them. its how i got exalted with AD. anyway i loved this quest, and still in total if you can farm the mats or get them from a friend, its still a bit cheaper than epic land mount training.

Re: Sweet Sweet Dreadsteed
I can't speak for the rest of the warlocks on here, or anywhere in WoW for that matter, but, so far, I have completed every single warlock specific quest all the way up to my now level 58. Even if the items I obtained had become worthless or obsolete (such as the "Soul Harvester", which I will sport while free roaming for eternity. That is one bad arse looking staff), it's what I am, it's what my toon is. I know, the argument is, this will cost a handfull, aquiring all the items, and yes, I do mean "ALL" of the items, but I can only say this. This is why we play the game. If I wanted a game where my character didn't really have to grow, or myself with it, I'd go out and buy a PS3, get Soul Calibur or something and woop some arse.
I have two levels to go. I will ding 60 before this week is over, I have an entire weekend as my daughter will be with her mom, so, that being said. I will get this mount just as those before me had done. "The Warlock Way"! Tabard, badge or not. Are we not here for the experiance? I'm a noob as most put it. By the time i've level capped my first toon, I will truly be one with him. The Lich King can wait. Wish me luck all... this is gonna be a long fight. |
