awesome! I just got mine through the quest chain recently as well. I was level 62 becasue it took me 2 levels to get anyone to help me with the instances. What a pain it was! Same happened to me as well - we wiped on the summoning because the llevel 70 i had with me (in addition to another level 62) didn't believe me when i told him the quest was hard and we should probably get a tank or healer.

is the quest chain still there ? It's now a skill you can learn at trainer right (sadly, really love the chain) ...

im quite upset at the fact they took that away as it was such an accomplishment to finally get it...now you get it without that the kudos isnt thtere anymore..and i wan tpeeps t know i worked hard for that steed!!

IMO they should make finnishing this questchain before hitting lvl70 an achievement. A nice litle "xxxxxx the demon rider" or something as a title from it.
Too many locks are just getting this from the trainer now, and they're missing out on one of the coolest parts of the game!

well yes totally agree i loved getting to dire maul and defeating thee dreadsteed as it was..a good fight etc and so yes if they gonna give the steed like that then something shld show for the effort!!!

Guys

Because I'm stubborn and I started the quest chain just before the trainable steed (which I'm sure will be a weak *** pony compared to the hard earned one I'm in the process of getting!) I am working my way through with a fellow guild lock.

We are now both at the DM part and this is where I need your help!

I appreciate that you will all be very busy with Wrath of the Lich King however we need a fellow lock to help us with the final part (DM) of our dreadsteed. I'm a 73 demon Blood Elf lock ( yes its taken me a LONG time to work through the Dreadsteed quest) and my guildie is a 68 lock. We also have a kindly Tauren shaman helping out (with skinning, tanking and healing)

We would greatly appreciate some help running us through DM with the mats- we will of course pay you for your time and trouble. Whenever is convenient (outside of Monday - Friday 8am to 6pm as boring day job interrupts WoW activity). We are Horde (FTW) and are on Lightbringer server - so if you are, or know of a suitable lock who can help please let me know. All help and advice greatly appreciated

Yay! Got my steed on Monday night! And picked up a purple book thing that is quite good for palas and warriors too. I'm so happy!

Anyone on Lightbringer who is about to undertake the quest (Don't buy the steed, quest it!) let me know and I'll be more than happy to help out. I can mine for you, I have a spare Arconite bar and of course I have the keys for Scholo and DM.

Don't let the dreadsteed quest die!
