Pet DPS with Destruction Build.

Hey all,

Just thought i'd post my findings on various pet DPS while being Deep Destruction!

These results were taken with Pet SOLO attacking a 70 dummy, so doesn't take into account any Crit bonuses to personal (lock) DPS from say Empowered Imp). Also, Ill post the DPS for pets while OOM, and firing once they regen enough mana to shoot again. If no OOM is shown, it means no signs were shown that it would run OOM from attacking.

My build: 0/13/48
Warlock - Talents - Thottbot: World of Warcraft

My stats: Spell Dam: 1321, Crit: 24%, Hit capped.

Imp: 150dps
Imp OOM: 120dps

Void: 62dps

Succ: 106dps
Succ OOM: 98dps

Felhunter: 82dps

Infernal: 520dps

No one around to test DG, and as the topic states, its a Dest build, so no Felguard.

Also, don't know if it makes a difference, but hit rate was 100% on all pets.

In Sunwell as a 2/3/56 build my imp was doing yesterday about 17-18% of my overall damage on trash and about 10-11% on boss

Re: Pet DPS with Destruction Build.

I was looking for a thread like this. I love the idea of my pet really contributing to my dps and not just being there for buffs, mana regen or cc (not that those things are unimportant) without speccing to felguard.

As deep affliction lately my pet has been doing 90-100dps. When I specced deep destro (8 points spent to buff up my imp) he only did 150-160 dps. So Blizz thinks it's worthwhile to invest 8 points to only increase my dps by 50 or 60? Incidentally my overall dps as affliction is around 1600 and with destro only 1450.

That's with about 15.6% crit from gear, hit capped and just over 1300 shadow damage (1250ish spell power) for affliction and about 27% crit for destro. I just change out some gear for destro since I'm getting 3% hit from talents.

As far as I can tell the 3 different imp talents just aren't worth it. Not even when used together. Anyone else do any experimenting with this or other pets?

I beg to differ, the lovable little rascal did 440 dps in Hos hc for me today, dwarfing the 250 dps from the metalocks felguard which was in the group with me. lol.....

Got the imp talents, demonic power, unholy power, and the glyph, now I'm wishing I was a orc for that 5% passive pet bonus.

IMP PWNAGE.

Re: Pet DPS with Destruction Build.

Also notice that the date of my last post was 11/10/08 -- 3 days before LK was even released.

Updated I think the 8 points for the various imp talents might be worth it now, partially because I don't know where else you would spend your points otherwise if going destro.

And now at 80 with new gear I've seen my imp get up to 600dps on his own with a 0/20/51 build and the glyph of imp. Completely unspecced for imp as affliction he only does about 200 dps. Of course in the case of 0/20/51 most of the 20 points in demo are geared towards your imp, plus the 5 in destro.

My bad, still getting used to writing 2009, didn't see. Thread was still pretty high on the first page so I just assumed it was new, hehe.

Again, Imp PWNAGE, wow 600! Well my gear could use some upgrades, but i didn't think he would scale that good!

Now.... If he could just shut up!

Re: Pet DPS with Destruction Build.

Theoretically he should be able to do even more damage on a 0/40/31 or similar build.
