doomguard tank

ive noticed that with the new doomguard rules i am farming doomguards more then i am using felguards
i soloed the level 72 elemental elite in skettis well .... i ....say.... soloed
my doomguard was so amazing he dealed 99% of damage i was there just to heal him i poped a corruption on the enemy and waited form my doomguard to kill him i was so proud i got 4 motes of water from it too so its win-win :D

what i am trying to say is that with his high armor and and high damage he is actually the equivalent of a medium geared tank

i in all fairness soloed Non-heroic underbog with this doom-puppy so i think that we should stop being so scared of summoning him now
it is a revolution he is more powerful and usable

use him wisly and with evil at heart

i would like to hear your coments about the tanking viablity of this beast

and one other thing i looked at the post

and he seems to scale

guys i think this is a new new dawn for warlock OPness but keep this secret if the rouges find out we are done for

also it sadens me to find out that i cant release him in goldshire anymore no more N00B busting for him

well with that BIG wall over with i wanna hear your comments about using doomey to solo elites of all kinds and maybe even a funny story or two

Wasn't that awfully annoying trying to get another one once the current on runs out and your facing a mob of 4 mobs?

Couldn't you just pop your VW long enough to handle it until another one pops?

I'm full demonology, I can insta-pop a VW, empower him, and Suffering and he'll take them all off me without too much problem. If I'm really in trouble I can always fear a few off until I get the pull handled, then set up for a new Doomguard.

so whats the new rules on the RoD doomguard summon? im reading 15 min CD/15 min duration+despawn timer/5k damage to random party member in some places and just 5 min duration in others.

i presume the former is due to the ritual needing 5 people and all that and that the latter is the CoD spawn when enslaved?

Are there any differences between the two demons that spawn? havent had a doomguard out for ages now (more than a year :/ )

I summoned a doomguard with the ritual recently and nobody died, and he got automatically enslaved for 15min.

I just need to go do the damned quest and get the ritual! How's his aggro generation?

The two are identical. The ritual one lasts 15 min while the other if enslaved with curse of elements lasts 5 min quite safely. In instances it does around 350 dps, almost 80 more than felguard, but with much higher armor and hp. And his cripple ability is imba!

What are ppls thoughts on using him in BGs? I have always been afraid to use him because if he gets free he is likely to cause more of a problem than anything. Also, summoning him meant someone will die.. this is no longer the case?
