Imps crit rate

I thought the imps crit was boosted by my own crit, just like with hit.
But the imp crits so seldom, its like 5% ish.
empowered imp sounds so awsome until you realise that your imp has a shitty crit rate.

Is it supposed to be like this?

Re: Imps crit rate

Your crit rate does not affect your pet's crit rate, that is why Crit was always useless in PvP because resilience would completely nullfiy their 5% base crit rate.

But if you have all the demo talents, then that crit rates will improve to a decent amount for PvE. But this is not the case if you are spec destro for Emp Imp.

But from my testing on the PTR, empowered imp always seem to proc once or at least once in 2 fights.

Re: Imps crit rate

I noticed I keep forgetting to take imp of phase shift; not bright, sounds like party buffs will be crucial part of his (and your ) dps. Let us remove that phase shift auto right now fellow locks and use it only as a panic when the brainless little enthusiastist is standing in a big puddle of aoe

Re: Imps crit rate

You NEED to turn off phase shift.
That is if you want your little machine gun to have buffs.
Unbuffed, the imp sucks. Buffed, he's great.

What i did was to turn of auto-phase shift. So whenever i summon him he's visible, he can be buffed. If for some reason i need him to stay hidden, i just push the button on his bar.

Re: Imps crit rate

I tend to keep him phased while I run around with my friends, just imagine seeing a warlock who seems to have no pet and is surrounded by 6+ mobs?

When I get attacked my imp goes into action and my warrior buddy (paitently waiting for me to bring him the mobs) will intercept/hamstring and we win or if I am with my rogue buddy he just jumps out of stealth and stunlocks them, then I fear them around.

I love playing "bait".

Re: Imps crit rate

Another fun little note for those of you on PvP realms. Turn phase shift on, firebolt off. put your little guy on aggressive, and walk into a neutral town to where members of the opposite faction are.

The guards will zerg you even if you or your pet do not attack. It took me an hour to figure out why I kept getting attacked while in the Cenarion Refuge. At first, it appeared to be at random. Then I noticed I only died when an ally ran past me. Then I had a friend try it and he didn't get attacked at all! I thought Blizz was out to get me. Then I noticed my imp was aggressive, turned that to passive and the guards didn't notice me at all.

That little Imp sure can get you into a load of trouble just by glaring angerly at people.

WWS and recount show my imp doing 15-20% crit. /shrug I wish crit affected my little demon. That would make crit a better stat than it currently is for Destro locks like myself.
