The Infernal/Doomguard
As many of you know the infernal needs to be enslaved each time. This is how the spells seems to be staying. After many ideas I have given blizzard it doesn’t seem that they will be changing this in any way. The infernal does 120-500 damage a hit and has a 30 damage a sec AoE spell he always has on. The infernal usually lasts less then 1 minute and can last for 5 seconds sometimes. The pet is totally worthless and the reward for the risk even worse.
The infernal is a total waste of a spell. I think this pet should be totally taken out and replaced with a more useful pet like a healing pet that doesn’t attack. Now that the infernal can no longer be used in an instance I see no reason to ever use it again other than PvP outside of cities. The infernal is so useless now all I use him for now is a free ride to the graveyard. I was the only warlock that used the infernal over and over and I was never listened to. Most people thought I was totally wrong about the infernal and that he does have some use. The infernal has no use because the risk is too high to match the reward. Enslave should be totally reworked if that is the way we must control this pet. For the doomguard there is no way this thing should start unenslaved if we have to sac a random person in our group for it or have the rare chance that he will come out of a mob we kill with a spell that will almost never kill the mob. From what I was told by a blizzard emp, the doomguard is a raid pet. If the doomguard was a raid pet don’t you think that his abilities should work on raid mobs? This is not the case since they are all almost immune to cripple. The doomguard is also another useless pet because the cost for the summon is so great, I’m not sure anyone would ever summon it. Most people got what they think from the infernal/doomguard from testing it with me but it seems that I was the one no one really listened to :(. |

The Infernal/Doomguard
For me it's a simply case of I won't use it the way it is. 90% of my play time is spent in a Duo, because of this there is no way I would ever use either. Because I will never use either I get my last pet at level 30, only half way through my levels

don't like them how they currently are, just not a big enough pay off for the trouble. risk does not outweigh the reward. so i suspect very few will use it.
it needs to be reworked so that after you summon them, and you lose control after a pre-set amount of time that is decent (5 minutes minimum), they begin attacking the opposite faction, out of your control, not you. this way, they'd still be useful, because they wouldn't be rushing for your blood. BUT, if there is no one of the opposite faction around to attack, well, then they come for you and your faction. i think this would make the risk worth the reward, for in order for them to attack you, you'd have to have defeated the other faction in the area. i'd also like to see Enslave Demon improved, it would make things a lot more fun. another idea is for a REAL level 60 pet. my thought is to go the route of the Hunter for this. you'd be able to have a new skill that would allow you to Permanantly Enslave a demon, much like the Hunter tames a beast, and could then recall them any time you want. but you'd have to find them in the world and beat them down to show them who is boss, then, before they die, with let's say 10% life left or less, you Permanantly Enslave them, capture their essence, whatever. from then on, you would control them via a Summoning Stone in your inventory. it would contain the demon. if you toss it away, that demon would be freed and attack you right there. if you ever try to simply release the demon from your service, it would come for you. but it would keep with the Demonic control idea, yet give us a level 60 pet of our choice. they can really improve on the Warlock class still. there is so much they can do and a lot that can be added to make them a hell of a lot more fun. the high level content and PvP problems still need to be worked out. |
