Blizzard would like to see the Voidwalker get more than just leveling love!

Original post:
I can really see how the first incarnation of the felhunter part of the ability was OP (reset all felhunter cds) what with being able to chain spell locks and devours. The current incarnation seems it have turned the ability a full 180 and gone from being wildly good to 'when the heck would I use that?!?'.

I suggest that the felhunter demonic empowerment affect only devour magic and either have a chance to devour all magical debuffs off a friend or devour all magical buffs from an enemy on devours next cast. This would in my mind would make the ability useful and not overpowered.

Thanks,
Kargon

Ghostcrawlers response:
I doubt raid leaders are going to be bringing death knights just for Hysteria. The whole point is nobody brings something unique to raids so important that it gaurantees them a spot. Locks still have several very potent buffs -- it's just that there are other ways to get those now too.

The Felhunter was just too well-suited for PvP. There was no reason to bring any other pet.

We would like to get the Voidwalker a little more use besides just leveling though.

any hc and t4 content can be tanked with blue, so they sure did turn void into something useful..... miss affi/destro tho (fresh level 70 human lock, not the one in profile)

Re: Blizzard would like to see the Voidwalker get more than just leveling l

What on earth are these people talking about?

Felhunter wasn't "the PvP pet". The felhunter was a reasonably effective anti-caster pet. Not OP except against mages, and mostly because it was too hard to sheep it.

Paranoia is just for entertainment, and a potentially useful group buff. It didn't make the felhunter into an anti-melee pet. It didn't turn the results of a fight against a PvP ogue either (the only interesting ability for PvP is one which turn a a lost fight into a win - nothing else matters).

So: Felhunter for casters. Felguard for melee. But wait - Afflocks don't get a Felguard - it's only for Demo locks. So I need to rephrase that. Felhunter for PvP because there was nothing at all across all the available demons that had the least effect on a fight against melee.

Now the Felhunter has been nerfed too, and they want me to start using a VW /lol. This is what happens when they start their design with Arena groups which are "tuned". It is making world PvP unplayable as a 'lock.

BTW - those who saw the other thread - note how well GC respinds to grovelling. But it's distracting im from understanding the real issues.

I just wanted to add that the VW is the best for me than anything. now at level 64, my health being 5400 & his being lil over 9K with a stam scroll, he is unstoppable! I can kill 3 65 elites at a time with him. & well yes, he is the shizz when questing, but instanves as well.

Thank god Amanita you have at least some of the best sense I've seen in locks yet when it comes to felhunters, but don't count the VW out yet. Honestly giving the VW the stealth detect was the best choice out of any pet because if you're demo you get a 10% physical damage reduction which obviously was meant for warriors and rogues.

The stupid felhunter was utterly useless vs A) a smart caster or B) melee of any sort once the action started. I also love all the affliction locks using felhunters now when oh wait you don't have that extra 70 to all resistances which gave your pet like close to 100 extra. Bam bam pet is dead.

Yeah its kinda nice being able to down a fel pup in just a few spells as a caster. But now they have given all that spell resistance to mages . Like WTF? Evening out the playing field I can understand but to turn the tables? By now we should all know Blizz response to "buff" something is to completely nerf the hell out of what works to make the other stuff seem more useful.

OT but has anyone else noticed the increase in CD for spell lock on the Fel Hunter? I think it has gone up 2 sec but I never saw anything in the patch notes on it.
