Infernal- any changes ?
I havent seen the patch yet but I'm curious if
any of the spells a Warlock has for normal pets are usable with the Infernal now. Soul Link, Health Funnel, Master Demonologist, And if not. well to be expected. again. Thx for info. |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
I believe that you could always health funnel your 'slaved demons and I know that you can soul link them as well. Master demonologist is only for the normal demons, but the infernal and doomguard do give you demonic knowledge, and don't forget that you can have demonic sacrifice up at the same time you have a 'slaved demon.
I know that the doomguard is considerably stronger now and *much* easier to summon, and while the infernal's cooldown has been dropped to only 20 minutes I don't think that it's much tougher. |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
This may be a bit sidetracking, but theres been sonme changes to infernal and doomguards now
Infernal is now a 1.5s cast time spell, castable indoors, and spawns a level 70 infernal that does about 500 dps.Is automatically enslaved when spawned, and despawns after 1 min, theres no need to enslave the infernal at any point nor will he turn aggressive. Doomguards summoned by the ritual now no longer kills a party member, is scaled at level 70 and is automatically enslaved when spawns. Enslavement lasts for 15 mins and will not break before that - he will despawn after that.No need to enslave the doomguard at any point nor will he turn aggressive at any point. These changes make it worthwhile for a destro/affliction lock to use them for tough boss battles. For example, i die in brutullus fight, and got battle rezed. Summoning any other pet takes up to 10s with no haste, so i cast the infernal for 1.5s and got get a much harder hiting pet, minimizing dps downtime and getting a dps boost. Finally, a use for infernals and doomguards |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
Yesterday did some intensive dummy bashing in orgrimmar.
1800 dps in current demo talents was easily obtained. (0/46/10) (hehe maybe you think I'm noob :P) However with Infernal out (20 min CD), I did almost 2100 dps So I think it might be worthy to bring the infernal to raidencounters from today. My guess is to use it like a Shaman pops out fire elementals, in the last 20% of the fight to pump out the final bits of extra dps. Reason: the cast time, and only 1 minute available. So using it in the end of a fight would save the hassle of summoning a new felguard. I also tried the doomguard, but this pet wasn't a dps improvment at all. However, it did have a lot of extra spells available. Maybe for special encounters? |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
Doomguard give a 50-100 DPS increase compared to felguard, but the big improvement is the infernal for sure.
I have still some doubts about their usefulness for deep demo locks however, due to some current problems: - demonic pact does not work for either (this is intended, it's written in the spell description) - Demonic Knowledge does not work with infernal (bug!) but it does with Doomy - Both Doomguard and Infernal seem to be unaffected by Demonic Tactics and Improved Demonic Tactics (at least looking at Recount), and they both fail to trigger demonic Empathy - Demonic Empowerment does not work on them (you see the effect around them, but it does nothing according to my tests) At least soul link and Demonic Synergy seem to work.. don't know about Demonic Resilience or other talents such as Fel Vitality. Any others have data about these problems, or can contact Blizzard (opening tickets, posting in official forums..) and ask to fix these bugs? |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
They need to drop the cooldown on Infernals to match the temporary pets that Mages and Shamans get then. The Mage cooldown is a mere 3 minutes. The Infernal duration needs to be higher as well, maybe 2 minutes.
The current cooldown and duration on Infernals still relegates it to a "toy" spell (since I'll lose my current pet if I cast it - plus it costs me 40-odd silver). Plus the fact that the stones still only stack in 5s... |

Re: Infernal- any changes ?
Well, I dropped my first infernal during my BG grind last night (I'm respecced now and just having murdering just about everybody).
I was running EOTS and the Horde outnumbered us at MT 6-2 (as per my map) so I ran over from DR and was all O.O. Then I remembered about inferno, so I thought, 20 min CD, what the hell. Results: UNBELIEVEABLE. He dropped and hit the entire area with his AOE for over 2K, I sent him after the ret pally and immediately shadowfuried the area, then started spamming RoF (Pyroclasm/aftermath). Not only did we route the horde, I received several tells about how awesome that was. Not that I mean to brag, but I just wanted to illustrate something: Our infernals are absolutely crippling now. I'll take that 20 minute CD because of what he means and how hard he personally immolates the area and swings for. Plus, I still don't think there's a more horrifying NPC skin than that. I will also add that Doomguards are pretty hot now too, but they seem to attract focus fire in every BG I've pulled them out in. As 0/14/47, on Brutallus, he was some 400 DPS more than my imp (around 600). |
