Infernal/Doomguard

Hey guys,
i am kidna new to these forums and i dont know if a post has already been put out about this and if their was anything that could get blizzard to take this into consideration i think it would be great. getting off subject for a moment, if any of you read fantasy novels one thing that wizards, mages, warlocks, or any other spell caster is alwasy looking for is a way to further their knowledge and/or power by any means neccesary. there is always some new spell or some new magical artifact to discover. and on that note is where i will return to WOW. why cant blizzard make it to where once you have your infernal/doomguard summons that you must take another quest to get some type of item that would allow you to control the demon perminately. however, make the quest hard enough to where the erward would be well worth it, set it at a difficulty to where most people would just give up. make it to where the only warlocks that would recieve this ability to have full control over an infernal/doomguard are the ones that truly deserve it.

also i would like to see blizzard make it a solo quest. what purpose would a mage, or a warrior or any other class for that matter have going on the quest.

this was just an idea that i had, like i said i dunno if this has alreeady been posted about, but let me know what you guys think.

Infernal/Doomguard

That's actually not a bad idea. I would like to see something implemented (although hopes dwindling) to make the Infernal and / or doomguard a permanently controllable pet.

Perhaps even stages to that quest, the first stage makes him controllable for say 30 minutes at the cost of X amount of soul shards. However if you take the next level in that quest it might bump it up to controllable for 2 hours, then say permanently. This way it might fall more into the line of "learning the mind control necessary to obtain complete control over such a demonic beast"

(Rambling thoughts of someone awake at 3am :D )

It would be great to permanently control the Infernal/Doomguard, but Blizzard already stated the Warlocks would become too powerful to do that.
During the US open beta, I suggested Warlocks would get leather at say, level 40, to compensate for the risk taken by summoning the Infernal/Doomguard. This would make Warlocks a little more viable as a solo class, as the pets pre-level 40 don't scale compared to your growth in power.
This way, you would have the choice not to take the enormous risk. When your Infernal/Doomguard breaks, you're killed anyway, so leather wouldn't do anything in that aspect (to keep Blizzard happy).
Someone who embraces Demonic Power should be able to wear it I think. Warlocks are gifted with strength/endurance that is unholy. In the same way, Mages embrace the Arcane/Fire/Whatever magic, to make their spells stronger.
Maybe a permanent Infernal/Doomguard is something for the greatly discussed Hero classes.

Infernal/Doomguard

ok, on the note that being able to perminately control the infernal/doomguard would make the warlock very powerful. but like i said, and i like the idea that akasha put in(make the quest in stages). this wouldn't be available to every warlock. the quest would need to be so difficult that only the best warlock's would be able to achieve this.

also what would it hurt to give each other class some kind of ability that would give it a definative advantage to the rest, as well as making those classes equally hard to complete. such as the mage being able to summon a water elemental??

i think this would add a whole new element to the game that only the highest level best played warlocks or any class for that matter could achieve the best abilities...just my thoughts.

something along the lines of an "epic" quest perhaps a wand that would allow you to control the Doomguard but would consume a soulshard ever hour or so or something along those lines. Who knows maybe they are listening and we will see something like this in an expansion down the road or a patch.

Infernal/Doomguard

The fact that Blizzard did not make them into permanently control pets, is just something I will never understand. I am not sure I agree with the comment that it would make us over powered. We are the only class that can summon a pet to do their bidding. Blizzard can make changes to scale both those pets just as they did with our first four pets. At this point, I find Blizzard wasted their time in developing those two pets because many warlocks I talk to say they will never summon this pet but maybe once to see what it looks like.

/rant off

In my opinion, any change that gives us the ability to control those two pets on a semi-regular basis would be a good change.

At the very least Enslaved Demon needs to be fixed so they work right and the killing people to make a Doomguard has to go. There will never be a pet that is worth killing a PC over.

Infernal/Doomguard

Here's my idea for what its worth.

Since Blizz doesnt want the two high summons to be overpowering, how about they let us have control over them every now and then. I would suggest perhaps a short amount of time, in return for a long cooldown and maybe even having it cost an expensive/hard to get reagent.

This way, a warlock could experience complete control of them, but not at their beck and call, and not frequently -- a kind of compromise.
