My minion can't swim anymore

Since the expansion, I jump in the water to go either kill or free some murlocks in Borean and start swimming towards the island when I get the sound indicating I've just gained a soul shard. At the time I didn't think much of it until I reached land and realized my minion was nowhere to be found. Resummon and continue. Since then I've realized that minions seem to have real trouble swimming now. Either they just stay in one spot until you get so far away they vanish or yesterday I jumped into the ocean to swim across the surface to an island and watched my felguard swim straight down. I stopped and watched from the surface as he just kept going straight down and out of sight.

I'm guessing I'm not the only lock out there whose pet has lost the ability to swim since Wrath of the Lich King. Its not every time, sometimes they stay in one spot then reappear next to me, and occasionally they even keep up with me but lately about 50% of the time I end up loosing one. At least I get the shard back when I do.

Im having the same problem. Seems that even a small stream can cause them to get stuck. Mainly having this trouble with the felhunter. More often that not I find myself with out a pet.

Try franticaly to resummon my FelGaurd with at least 2 if not more mobs beating on me.
Shoot im dead jsut needed one more second to get that cast off.

I have noticed the same problem and actually spent some time trying to figure out what was causing the problem, even casting everlasting breath on my minion since I'm using the glyph. What I have noticed is that they seem to follow terrain on the ocean floor. This happens especially when just entering water and the terrain just drops off suddenly. They will continue this until they reach far enough away to "teleport" back (such as when I become bored and have them chase down low level creatures when waiting for blimps) or if you keep moving they will dismiss themselves and return the soul shard. Hopefully they will fix this after the patch and allow our creatures to noclip when they enter water.

i experienced the same problem and only found ONE thing that seems to work....

periodically clicking "follow" on my minion's control bar (which for me is ctrl+2). i noticed if i do this shortly after jumping in the water and click it 1 or 2 more times i don't have as much of an issue...

Well our pets may not follow us 100% of the time, but at least they don't look absolutely absurd in the water such as some of the Hunter pets (like the Core Hound and Rhino) that don't even have swimming animations.

However I still get a chuckle out of watching the Devilsaur in water

I also noticed my pet frequently "glitches" when I tell it to attack the Training Dummies in Orgrimmar. Eh well they are bound to get it all fixed eventually

I want to know why my poor felguard is at 100% health when I jump on my dreadsteed, and at 50% health when I dismount. How can I expect the poor bugger to take a beating for me when he's about to croak? I have to heal HIM while I'm getting a whuppin'

I have been having the same issues with each of my demons lately. I don't doubt that it will be fixed but it can be quite annoying.

Is there a Demonic strike upon us ? Here I was thinking my Fellguard was just dumb when he swam into the deep and vanished, assuming my Imp was acting obnoxious when it disapeared with no reason. However if Warlock's all over the world experience this, I can only assume 2 things, our demons are being recruited by the Burning Legion after their latest defeat, or is it King Icecream Arthas who has another diabolic plan for us Warlocks in store, he probably realised we are the real threat to his throne ...

Anyway, whoever is behind it, I'm having a chat with my demons tonight, make them clear they have no right to strike and will be perma-banish if they don't get their act together. And I'll tell my void, no more cookies that always works ...

It's not just me? Whoa. Yes, I noticed in Outland and Northrend (but not the original zones) when I dismount with my felguard by casting a spell, he typically doesn't pop up to full health. I end up with a half-health felguard. Even if I dismount normally and just stand there, he acts like he was wounded and not full health when I mounted. I have to health-funnel him to get him up to full health again.

I tested a bit with the succubus, and she didn't exhibit the same issue. Just the felguard. Seemed to start post-patch.

Edit: I've also noticed the felguard suddenly swimming down when I jump in the ocean, when I'm going forward. Noticed this happen a lot in Icecrown when I'm killing Scarlet Crusade. Or whatever the hell they call themselves in Northrend.
