Infernal missing?

Just going theough alot of my recount details and I was always under the impression that infernal always had the highest dps of all the pets (as affliction) so whenever possible I drop him when the boss is around 25%. But going through my recount stats my doomguard actully did slightly higher dps than my infernal.

Looking further into it I noticed my infernals attacks missed ALOT where as my doomguard didn't miss at all cos I was hit capped. I always thought all our pets benifit from our +hit. So is my infernal broken? is everyones broken? or is it working as intended and I have the worse luck?

Re: Infernal missing?

As far as I know, NONE of our pets benefit from our +hit.

Keep in mind that your doomguard probably got all the raid's buffs, so he may actually be better than an unbuffed infernal. But in the same (un)buffed situation, the infernal is highly better.

Re: Infernal missing?

Pets benefit from +hit as of patch 3.02.

However, melee pet attacks can still be blocked/parried/dodged, which some meters report under the catch-all category of 'miss'.

Re: Infernal missing?

So for purposes of this question would that mean that the doomguard has expertise and the infernal doesn't?

Re: Infernal missing?

well from what I remember from my recount was the infernal doing a very tiny bit more dps than my doomguard. But I had alot of misses on the infernal. Now my hit is at 370 so I'm capped with talents but that still leaves around 3% chance to miss for my pets. But if I remember correctly the infernal missed around 20% so looking at that it hasn't gotten any of my +hit. I know the doomguard would of had raid buffs on him but I cannot remember any raid buffs on him that would improve his hit that the infernal would not be getting anyway.

Mabey it was a one off bug but its something I'm gonna be checking from now on to see if its something that happens to my infernal all the time or just occationally. If it is something that happens all the time I would be better off keeping my doomguard up and throwing another SB. If I had the puppy out it might be worth getting the infernal out at the end.
