my apologies if this has been discussed before...

but what if there was a demon that didn't require a constant "battle" to control, but instead constant "effort".

So instead of having to land enslave demon (a spell with deminishing returns right now) you would control the demon through a channeling spell. You wouldn't be able to do anything else while the demon was under your control but it could last as long as your channel is not broken. Once the channel is broken, the demon poofs.

I don't think this is unbalancing in PvP at all, as you would just need to interrupt the warlock to poof the demon.

The demon I envision for this summon would be a mighty tank.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

so far, the enslave demon spell has been totaly useless for me. Ive found 1 instance where the demon in question wasnt as good/was more usefull than my VW. I wanted to enslave him cause he was a felhunter of a mob, use that demon to beat the mob in question. That would cancel out the demon and be a good choice for the spellcaster mob i was fighting. This was the first and only use of the spell and i coudnt use it so i was kinda pissed. VW forever.

VW died around at 20 for a bit for me... came back for a bit in the 30s for a bit died again once I hit 40 and stayed dead pretty much unless I was fighting a really hard hitting elite. Or if I wanted to sacrifice them for shield lol. succubus is just much more efficient for me, fel concentration talent is a must though to solo effectivly since she wont keep aggro too much but usually until
you throw an immolate or the mob has been hit alot by dot damage. Thus the drain life tank method comes into play about then and you finish the fight very well off and ready to move on to the next one.

but this topic was about enslaving demons... which I will say is pretty limited till you hit the 50 and 60 pets, (I STILL havent managed to find that infernal spell that drops in BRS) but the doomguard is a great pet, and current enslave demon works just fine in my opinion. You just have to practice a bit with banish and use your curse of shadows every time you charm to get the best results. So I guess what im saying is demon enslaving is mainly for the higher lvls when you can make one with relative ease that you can enslave where ever you need it. otherwise the areas good demons are found in are very limited. Still If the demon is elite its almost definately better then your pet of the same level, or even 10 lvls lower it can be better in some cases. You just gotta be on your toes to keep those powerhouses on your side and under controll. I wouldnt bother
enslaving a normal demon in most circumstances, the exceptions being infernals and maybe the wild fel hunters.
