Succubus soloing?

I've been mostly soloing for my 26 levels, and I'm wondering how all of you use your succubus.

I generally use my voidwalker when I'm fighting hard hitting stuff, and just sit back dropping DOTs and wanding the mob to death. I'll use my imp for farming casters or lower level mobs, for quick damage. Now the succubus, where does it fit in for soloing?

Its "mez" doesn't seem to serve any purpose to me when soloing, I'm assuming that only shines in groups. It seems like a hybrid of the imp and voidwalker, not as much damage as an imp and not as much hp as a voidwalker.

I'm just wondering how you guys put your succubus to use when you're alone.

I like using my succubus when fighting low damaging humanoids especially if there are spots with two sitting together. I would mezz one that would force the other to come running and I would tank it while the succubus keeps the other one all woosie. Once the first is done I finish off the other. This is common in caves and mine type areas where mobs are tighter.

Key is using your curses to compliment your pets. For the VW Curse of Agony works best usually to make up for its low damage. When using Succubus and Imp Curse of Weakness does wonders when dealing with melee because generally with the succubus you are going to be sharing damage (she lashes and gets taunt then soothes the target he hits you for a bit till she lashes again and draws agro till her next sooth bouncing him/her back and forth. Good thing with her is that mobs go down fast. If not then you better use the VW.

I only use the imp in groups and when farming shards. As for fellhunter well I just got him and he only has the starting spell so I haven't found a real use for him yet.

I agree with everything here but wanted to add that if you turn off autocast on soothing kiss (right click it) and let the succubus get the first whack, she is pretty effective at holding aggro. By the time I steal aggro and the monster runs at me (usually by my casting immolate or drain life) it is almost dead.

As for which curse to use, I like using curse of weakness on feline type fast hitters and curse of agony on ogre type slow hitters. I specced 3/3 improved CoW and equal level cats are often hitting me in the single digits after an unamped CoW.

As for myself, I find the succubus almost totaly useless. When soloing, my dps is soo much higher with VW because im not getting hit and can just let loose on the monsters. Even when i have 2 monsters to deal with id rather use the VW and just let him tank for both. I put tons of points into him in the talents and he can more than tank 2 mobs at a time his level or 2+ if I CoW them both. I cant use either imp or suc because my DPS is soo bad and it takes so much longer to kill. When with a group i sometimes use imp for his range and stamina/fire shield and stuff, but when the shit hits the fan, i need my VW by my side. When i attack stuff and draw it, theres always those few mobs that just wont leave you alone and without being able to fear because of worring about attracting other stuff, i need the vw to make sure i stay clear of damage. I cant use anything but and really havent seen much use in doing so.

My succubus dishes out equal damage as my imp until the imp runs out of mana, but I play grouped....

I love the succubus

When I solo I switch back and forth between blue and sexy, but in groups I switch back and forth between imp and sexy unless I am going to be AEing and then sometimes I get blue just so that I can sac if needed.

I really hate my dog though. When I am like...np dog will tear this guy up the guy is immune (see RFD). 8(

who says your pet has to be the tank?

for starters, why not turn off that soothing kiss?
saves you mana and gives you a free shot...

you can still pull it with 2 dots and and immo, usually the mob will turn on you then...
so, there you are, the mobs life going down from dots and you re just draining life back... while you have the succ slapping your enemy...
In a single normal fight this makes me end with 85% life and 70 mana, a hit on darkpact... ready to take on 4 more (unless you have dark pact :p )
as the other pets tend to need more time to kill an opponent, I rarely set anything else than my succubus.
groups=imp bloodpact and passive mana battery.

Another thing you can do if you dont like taking hits...
pull with dot or send pet right at it (succ) another dot, immo, and when your halfway casting immo, let your succ do her seduce thingy, by the time this seduce starts the immo landed.
now take your distance and nuke it? :p

Im usually using the succubus when I fight for three reasons:
1.) im on a pvp server and this pet is one of the best to have out if surprised or caught off guard.
2.) I like to chain pull as many mobs as I can before my pet and I are too low on health / mana to take more then I eat and drain mana from pet to recover. The other pets imp and VW never have mana for me to drain because the imp goes oom after about two fights and stays there, and the VW goes oom just keeping aggro. The succubus with just lash turned on can keep the damage flowing for long periods and be useful the longest. Fel hunter is also something to consider if there are any caster mobs around as he is another great mana battery with decent damage.
3.) The mana battery thing with dark pact... talked a bit about it above the only two pets effective at my chain pull and dot to death/drain life style is either fel hunter or succubus. The other two just dont work.

Another thing to add is that for me the void walker tends to loose aggro and be worthless halfway thru most fights, at least for me in the lvls of 40-60 about. The imp is almost useless after just a couple fights, and if he gets aggro he dies really fast unless you waste some mana to searing pain the mob off him. Of course theres always the fear kite method with the imp but thats risky in some areas and can lead to what I call the curse of mass adds of death. or Just lotsa adds for short lol.

I use Succubus fighting difficult Humanoid mobs in Instances. Any other place, mobs hit too hard for her to tank, and there's more downtime healing after a fight than there is when using a Voidwalker instead.

I use succubus cause i like to fight mobs back to back to back without stopping and the imp has to take a small break every 2 fights. The imp is also pretty bad if you have links, i can handle links with the imp, its just much harder.

In areas where i can fear:
Cast 2 DOTs on mob A, Send succubus after him, Life Tap, Drain life, now im at 95% HP and MP. My sucubus is mainly tanking. Before mob A dies i find Mob B and Cast 3 DOTs on him, then fear him while me and succubus finish mob A. When mob B comes back he is half HP and i start to fight him. Fights are over in like 20 seconds for equal or +1 mobs and most importantly i only use like 15% MP and HP per mob(without dark pact!). I can go on doing this for like at least 3 equal level fights, once i get dark pact i think i can do this forever.

I dont use Voidwalker cause the kills are super slow and you use alot more Mana making up for his crappy damage. He is nice for when you expect to get 3 or possibly more adds, but i can handle 2 adds NP humanoid or not with the succubus.

Yeah plus warlocks can actually tank things fairly decent outside instances agains non elite mobs. Drain life (with fel concentration) and siphon life on some occasions allows you to still keep the damage of the succubus and do a decent chunk just draining and getting nightfall procs if you have that talent.
