Voidwalker Sac Reworked

Just saw the PTR patch notes on Wowinsider and thought this was an interesting change for us:

Sacrifice (Voidwalker) redesigned: Sacrifices a portion of the Voidwalker's health, giving its master a shield that will absorb X damage for 30 seconds. While the shield holds, spell casting will not be interrupted by damage. 1-minute cooldown.

I'm interested to see how much is sacrificed and how strong the shield will be compared to the old one. It will be nice for when you want to guard a flag or tower in a BG and have a shield but also have Consume Shadows up for stealth detection.

This is an interesting change. So we keep the VW now? So we could sac him, do whats needed and health funnel to keep him alive only to sac again a minute later? I wonder how this will work in PvP now?

even though this would be a good thing for us (imo), we still would need him only situationally. And I can just see a QQ train afterwards and a big huge nerf bat like normal.

God forbid we get anything that helps us in PvP

I wounder how much damage though. It will probally some stupid low number that will not last long and won't be worth it. If it does work out, I may have a new PVP pet.

It's a start to the VW. I think he needs an intervene type ability, drop consume shadows for it.

I think they are trying to give us a little more survivability and this does look promissing, but if they make the shield amount a low number, I don't think our survivability will improve much.

of course an Anti-Grip shield would be nice too

also, I think giving voidwalkers a death grip of their own would make strategically placing the VW an art.
